I've got to wonder if this is because they need money, or publisher pressure or what? I mean I can't see how it could be exciting or fun to port the assets of HR into a device that is smaller, less powerful, and has less/worse control compared to their last game.
What I can say it that while it looks to be an expansion rather than a real sequel to HR, it does actually look like a decent port. The cover system, upgrade menus, and art style are all left intact. The only problem is undoubtedly intensely terrible controls that are par for the course with touch screen games that try to mimic their console counterparts, coupled with the limited power/graphical limitations.
Not to mention the alienation of a huge amount of their fans through this exclusivity with only overpriced, under-delivering Apple mobile devices.
I really wasn't hyped about this at all, I try not to get hyped about any game until it's actually released, but I definitely had a really good time with HR. It was a solid stealth/rpg with a great sense of style, definitely one of the great games from 2011. Disappointing to see this new decision.
I felt a little rectified when I looked at the dislike bar. I'd be astonished if they actually expected a positive reaction from "core" gamers.
