*IF* you're the kind of person that buys games off of trust in a favorite developer or team that you will buy a game simply because the logo is there, what kinds of developers do it for you?

I know I generally trust Square-Enix (even if they've been giving me pain lately), Ubisoft, Atlus, Nippon-Ichi, and Bandai-Namco.

RareWare used to be on that list. No more...no more...

--Edit--

Oh, and I probably shouldn't be sexist. There is an equal chance for you to be a Fan-Girl as well. Don't kill me, ladies.

I pretty much own everything that both Valve and Bioware make. Neither of 'em have ever burned me yet so I see myself continuing that trend.

I was hooked on Bioware by Baldur's Gate & NWN, I had high hopes for Mass Effect and wasn't disappointed.

Blizzard for the win!
They put a lot of time into perfecting their games, balancing issues, and story.
They've never put out a bad game and I don't think they ever will.

Just Bioware for me these days, though I get the Blizzard loyalty others have. All the others I used to follow have either ruined themselves(Rare for instance)or fallen off the map.

Lionhead, Black Isle, Valve, Bioware, and Bethesda.

They've all made some bloody classics.

I usually find out who the developer is for a game when I read the opening credits on the title screen.

Infinity Ward. Even-numbered CoD titles are great.
Either that, or Bethesda. BOth make consistently great games.
And other than that I don't have the money to try games by other developers in case they are crap.

YUP!
Though, it's more Bioware then Valve for me. Don't get me wrong: I love Valve. But Bioware...*drool*...

Also: I really enjoy Bethesda. Don't think I've played one of theirs I didn't like.

Don't forget that 1 is an odd number! The first one was awesome (Yes: Infinity Ward)!

EDIT: And Black Isle! How could I forget?

Think it's just Bethesda these days. Would've said Neversoft and Harmonix in the past, but I've gone off the former since the Tony Hawk series turned to shit, and the latter because of the way they've acted over the international Rock Band delays - I know it's not necessarily their fault but it's the fact that they've never even so much as pretended to care which lost them a lot of respect from me. Both of them could easily win me back by, well, not doing what they're doing now.

EDIT: Um, yeah, Square-Enix... they've got a lot to do if they're gonna redeem themselves in my eyes after the last few Final Fantasy efforts, but it's definitely not lost.

i dont tend to but games by developers, but i find that most of my games have EA slapped on them, so i guess thats the closest i come to buying by developer.

Even though I haven't, and most likely won't touch fallout 3, I usually buy Bethesda games, I like everything about the company (no invasive DRM, good games, fantastic mod support etc).
Valve usually do alright, as do blizzard. Plenty of other devs out there who I like, but wouldn't really have any loyalty towards.

It depends on the type of game. For sports games I only go with EA Sports. Other than that if a game looks fun I go with it with no regard for the developer. Honestly I hadn't ever thought about this until this thread. This might get me to start looking more closely.
