Ah well here's some mitigating news about season 2:

-Seven known episodes so far
-Derpy is now an official Character, showing up in storyboards.
-Returning characters (*queue Twilight yesyesyesyesyesyes*)
-Luna episode is "pretty cool"!
-MLP Animators also watch it for the plot. (Confirmed x2!)

This saddens me, but hopefully the show will still be as excellent as it was during season one. I mean, she's still there, just not as much there.

Well, I'm feeling a little optimistic still. At least until I've seen what the second season will be like

Just as long as they don't make another "Feeling Pinkie Keen" (shudders)
But "Feeling Pinkie Keen" was awesome and the second best episode of the series after "Sonic Rainboom"!
An episode where the moral is "don't ask questions and submit your self to the will of the universe, have faith". Beating myself in the face sounds more inviting than this.

It was however, entertaining as all hell.

And yes "Sonic Rainboom" was a very good ep.

Damn...

I only just discovered this show and it's already going to the crapper. I think I may be cursed.

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic though. We really don't know how much Lauren contributed. The really worry is that being that HASBRO is the one that pushed her away it's going to start seeping into the show now that she's gone. I'd hate for this show turn into what people thought it would be from the start; an awful 20 minute toy commercial.

Don't forget "Over a Barrel", the episode that reduced an awful bloody history of the conquering of america and the genocide of the native americans to a apple pie fight.

Stay classy MLP. Stay classy.

This, pretty much. Faust gone? Tragic, but not a show-killer.

Hasbro taking over? THAT'S a death sentence.

At the very least, Faust wrote the scripts for the second season, so that one should still be good.

I wanted to post a pony pic of Spike looking up and saying "NOOOOOOO", but:

A. It's a bit premature for that sort of reaction.

B. This topic is going to get flooded with pony pics anyways.

I thought, even if Faust stayed to do season two, the series wouldn't live up to the hype that season one created. Now that Faust is less involved, I know the new season won't be good.

I have complete faith in the rest of the mlp team to make season 2 great if not better than the first one.I mean derpy an official chracter, the return of luna its going to be great. Now if she leaves the show completly then I'll be worried.

I'll still watch it.

One person alone can't be carrying all the talent, right?

RIGHT?!

RIGHT?

Right...

Derpy being moved up from "Derpy spotted at 10 o'clock!" to someone with a part? That makes me sad; I liked having a "Where's Wally" sort of thing every episode.

Well this sucks. Hopefully she changes her mind at some point and joins back up as the producer again.

Ok I've heard about this but can someone please explain, is it a funny spoof of My little pony (Or something like that)? Or is it just that show about cute ponys that my sister used to watch about 12 years ago that is aimed at a female audience?
Is it an ironic thing? I really don't understand

We've got shit-tons of threads concerning that scepticism. Search around Off-Topic for a while, and you'll find at least one filled to the brim with reasons for liking this show.

While this is disappointing, she's still on the project, and certainly she isn't entirely responsible for the show's quality. As long as the execs don't force any bullshit on the writers and animators, the show shouldn't really get any worse.

As long as the new director doesn't cave into Hasbro's demands as easily and they don't increase their demands I don't think quality should change; she only wrote what, the first two episodes? It was nice to have her as the face of the show but I think the quality should be about the same.

Also, from what I understand her original job handled a lot more the business aspects than the creative ones. Only really worrying bit is, and I'm paraphrasing here, "you'll enjoy season 2 but in a different way". For all we know that could mean they're including a bit more for the older side, but it could mean something else.

But is it just the kids show or is it some re-worked parody version? I haven't seen it
