Sorry, but I don't like carbonation. Therefore, I've never tried Mountain Dew. Although I hear that they only have original Mountain Dew in Australia so that must suck with all the other flavors out there.

Mountain Dew Pitch Black. Glad to see this one coming back later this spring. The subject of a running gag between my roommate and me back in 2004 when it first debuted---she and I both loved the stuff.

I love you.

Where'd you hear this, by the way?

I've tried the original, diet, code red (red alert? I don't know), and both of the World of Warcraft versions. I really liked the Alliance flavor for the World of Warcraft stuff, and mixing Horde and Alliance flavors created a really interesting drink.
Did it cause... a cataclysm?

But I've tasted only 1 flavor, oh wait and the red stuff.

err...none, I've heard of it but I can't say I've ever really seen it in the UK and if I did I really wouldn't be inclined to drink it, that shit looks radioactive.

Ran across that item when reading the Wikipedia article that inspired my original post. A quick Google search "Mountain Dew Pitch Black" revealed a bunch of articles about its return in May 2011 under the "Back by popular DEWmand" ad campaign banner.

You've just made my day. I was really hoping for a comeback. I hope it's like the first release batch. The second time around it was just awful.

OT: I've tried them all, and I prefer regular, Throwback, Pitch Black, or the blue one. Code red is pretty good, too.

You were married for 5 years and still go to school? wat?
I'm 33. I got married at 27 and divorced at 32. I went back to college in the summer of 2009 because (a) the economy went to shit and unemployment where I live now is currently 15% so I might as well get some job skills so I can move somewhere else---not like any place is hiring, and (b) even if I could get a job, with a degree I can make more money in one year than I used to make in four.

Of course, the old truism holds that when one member of a romantic partnership makes a meaningful improvement to his or her life, it has an unfortunate habit of alienating the other one, and indeed the wife cited my new-and-improved drive and ambition as a sign that (a) I was now "too good" for her, and (b) she couldn't see herself in that new order, so she left me.

What this has to do with Mountain Dew I'm not sure, but you did ask about me being a divorced college student, so there's your answer. I was a slacker fuck-up in my twenties, which I think makes me like a lot of Generation X. We're kind of known for it.

Glorious The-Only-One-That-You-Can-Buy-In-UK-Petrol-Stations master race here.

Any other choice is both invalid and inconsequential.

Regular, Code Red, Live-wire, Voltage, White-out Baja blast, both WoW flavors, and that purple stuff that only came in 12 packs about a year ago.

So 9 total flavors, and my favorite is probably one of the WoW flavors.

I've only ever tried the original flavor. I took a sip, promptly forced myself to swallow it and then through out the bottle

Throwback, Normal Mountain Dew, Voltage (and the other two identical flavours, Nova and Revolution), White out, Typhoon, Distortion, Live-Wire, Pitch Black, diet, and Code Red.

Never got to try the fuels. Typhoon was absolutely terrible. It reminded me of a child's cough syrup, of which I can't recall the name.

I really miss Pitch Black and I really hope it becomes a permanent flavor in the not too distant future. Both variants were really good. Anyway, to tally all of the flavors; I've had...

Mountain Dew
Mountain Dew: Blue Shock
Mountain Dew: Code Red
Mountain Dew: Livewire
Mountain Dew: Baja Blast
Mountain Dew: Pitch Black
Mountain Dew: Pitch Black II
Mountain Dew: Gamer Fuel
Mountain Dew: Supernova
Mountain Dew: Revolution
Mountain Dew: Voltage
Mountain Dew: Gamer Fuel Alliance
Mountain Dew: Gamer Fuel Hoard
Mountain Dew: Throwback
Mountain Dew: Whiteout
Mountain Dew: Typhoon
Mountain Dew: Distortion

They're bringing back Pitch Black! I am going to buy out all cases that come to my local grocery store as that was my favorite.

Throwback, definitely my favorite. But I try not to drink caffeinated soda too often, because (get this) I am a college student that likes to sleep. I know. I don't need caffeine keeping me up all the damn night.

But, I enjoy the flavor of Mountain Dew in moderation. I have had:
-Regular
-Caffeine Free
-Diet
-Baja Blast
-Throwback

I describe them as follows, respectively.
-Pretty good
-OK
-Meh
-Blech
-Awesome.

[FAILED]I am a college student too, and I sleep eight hours a day, due largely to scheduling all my classes no earlier than four in the afternoon, then staying up 'til sunrise.

You see, I get to sleep a lot, since all of my classes are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 AM to wicked late. So I have a 4 day weekend each week. But in the middle of the week I have very little time for anything else, so I must get my sleep there too or I might just go crazy.

Let's see... I've tried:

Regular -- Not bad.
Diet -- Meh, not that great.
Code Red -- Awesome stuff!
Baja Blast -- It's only a fountain drink, so.... it's hit or miss.
Voltage -- WHARRRG!!! Second-worst soda I've ever had! (Next to Pepsi Blue... BAD memories...)
Whiteout -- It was okay. Not sure I'd want it all the time, though.
Throwback -- A little better than regular, I think.

So, I think that's all of them I've tried. 7 different Mountain Dews.
