The objective of the game is simple. Walk outside, you see enemy, you click on enemy until it dies. Once dead, you receive experience and loot which may either be gold or goodies, or both. Pick said items up,... rinse and repeat as necessary.

...etc...
I fail to see why this kind of mindless gameplay makes D2 a good game.

Please make sure to say that players shouldnt buy highrunes in the chat-channels, this destroyed the game, we dont need more "LAL ENIGMA LAL"-Drones there, just honest players, no dupers, and no dupe-supporters

Get out, stab your eyes out and beg the unholy Trinity for pardon.

Simple game =/= bad game. If you are mindless in Diablo 2 and, for example, just get random skills while leveling up, you ain't going to get past Normal difficulty. Or Act V, as a matter of fact.

Besides, it's hard to explain what's so great about Diablo 2. I find it good. If I were to point out what I like, it would mean I can also point out what I don't like. Okay, here it goes...

- It sucks you in. Diablo 2 is the only game that managed to entertain me for more than 10 hours straight.
- Is good whether you want to play 15 minutes, or 3 hours.
- MUSIC. OST is so awesome and climatic I can't even stress out how good it is.
- Graphics take me back to the times where Blizzard could do marvelous things without high requirements.

Every time I think about Diablo 3 and gameplay video I've seen four times already... I shiver. But it's a good kind of shiver that makes my wallet open.

Okay, not wallet, credit card. But still...

MAn diablo 2 has been staring at me from the back of my shelf for oh i dunno ten years or something. I played the first religiously, and jumped right into the 2nd the day of release and stuck with it for maybe 6 months or so. Question is:: How epic is the community at this point and it is possible for someone like me who played this game about 4 computers ago to jump back in and click my fingers away. I don't even remember how pvp worked in that game? Oh and there are expansions? Like sold seperatley?
