What is with gamers coming to the realization that the companies they buy games from want their money, just now all of a sudden? Well no fucking shit you retards. They're a company, the purpose of their existence is to make money and a living for their employees.
"THIS COMPANY WANTS MY MONEY? NO WAY, BOYCOTT"
Jesus Christ, video games aren't a fan service. A high speed internet connection is as likely to be in a house hold as a computer capable of running Diablo 3. Is there anyone here who will actually not be able to play Diablo 3 because they can't authenticate their game online?
*snip*
god how you are missing the point, they can want our money as much as they like, they can not however expect to get it without some compensation, say a decent product maybe, i seriously loved blizzard games up until starcraft 2, i've thoroughly regretted buying that, i had not done the research i should have done when i bought it so i way quite shocked to find there was no Lan. (completely my own fault for not doing the research)
I will not repeat my mistake with diablo 3 however, the problem i have with diablo 3 is that the changes they have made in no way add to the gameplay, all it does is try to give blizzard another steady income stream, not a bad thing necesarily, as long as it's deserved which in this case it is not, the real cash auction house is nothing but a transparent money grab scheme which serves no gameplay purpose, diablo 3 doesn't even benefit from a compelling storyline that i want to see wrapped up like command & conquer 4 did.
(the gameplay changes in c&c4 seriously made me reconsider getting it, my desire to see the story wrapped up however compelled me to get it.)
all in all, diablo 3 does nothing to deserve anyones money, the best thing everyone could do is ignore it and not reward blizzard for making bad decisions that only penelize it's actual customers.
and just to be clear for everyone saying *stop bitching just get a crack to "fix" the game* we shouldn't have to get a crack to enjoy the game, the game should be enjoyable straight out of the box, and whenever DRM of any kind messes that up, it has failed.
