This one's simple. It's about Diablo III. Anything about Diablo III. I started to make this just about what people would like to see in this game, but I don't want it to be limited to that. So, tell me what you'd like to see, or what you don't want to see. Do you think it can live up to the standard of it's predecessors? Anything you might want to say on the subject, this is the thread for it. I'll also suggest everyone interested in Diablo visit Diablo III [http://blizzard.com/diablo3] and take a look, I think it looks pretty good so far, but I'll save judgement till I play it. One thing though. Let's not have any fights or flame wars. Nobody is wrong here, this is a thread about opinion.

EDIT: This thread is now focused on the character classes that have been revealed on the Diablo III official site.

I like the look of it.

As an australian gamer, i'm willing to put out the pound of flesh for it.

Have they announced or do we have any idea when it will be out?
No, I have no idea, I didn't see anything about a projected release date on the site. They still seem to be in early stages. The cinematic teaser and gameplay video were only put on there three days ago, which must mean that's how old this site itself is. Also, They've only announced two character classes. Based on these details, I'd say weve got a while.

Hey, I'm that predictable about Blizzard these days.

But it's my right since Diablo is all my childhood. You ruin one of the best games in my life, I'd hate you too.
Not trying to start an argument, but what's so bad about it? Why does it ruin Diablo for you? Also, I saw in-game footage. the graphics are great. They look realistic and detailed and bring back the dark forboding feel of the original that many of us have been missing.

Also, the game was fine as is, and the only way to make it better was the way Hellgate was going, the immersive 3ps/fps-rpg. Sadly it crashed, so we'll never really see it at full potential. No mechanics should have been changed.

Next, there's subscription. No way. Diablo was meant to be played free online. Stupid money-mongering bastards. There's no love for the game anymore, it's just money now. I would rather go broke by making a game that's played online for all eternity than make billions by screwing people up.
Well, I gotta agree with those points. Subscription does indeed suck, and the mechanics were fine. But, they've done well in the past, so I hold out hope that they can make it work. The key word there, of course, is hope.

Diablo 3 doesn't seem to relate gameplay wise very much compared to Diablo 1 and 2. I welcome that change as I didn't entirely like filling my veins with magical potions every minute of fighting some strange creature. The boss fights do look a lot more epic but maybe the characters in the previews were in a mode where they had more health or could take more damage because if the game is that easy, it will just get really repetitive and dull quite quickly.

I think youre right. Watching that video, I got the impression that he was having way too easy of a time with it, then I realised they probably seriously ramped up the chars so they could show a decent demo.

They are saying about revamping the potion and spell system, so you might no longer have to tap yourself to your huge inventory of potions. Unfortunately trusting Blizzard is like trusting that when you fall from a tornado, you will land perfectly fine.

Looks pretty damn cool, though it'll probably give me the same old case of 'clickers-finger.' Still nursing my injuries from Diablo I&II!

I'm seriously considering not to read any new information about D3. Every piece of news is acompanied by comments full of biased and irrational views. Every change, even the slightest little thing, like streamlining the inventory is made into a game braking, quality downsizing bug.

I didn't spend my childhood in Sanctuary like some, but I played enough of Diablo to see how the changes made will improve the game play and get rid of many annoying features. Everyone is allowed their opinion but ones opinions are very far from some universal truth about sudden lack of talent and skill of Blizzards staff, only thing such comments show is the size of ignorance and ego.

Agreed gib. I'm really sad about that.

On the matter of the game, it sounds like you all want to just have the same game! Go back to LoD if you don't like III because they're DIFFERENT GAMES.

There was mention of Blizzard exploring alternate pricing models in an interview. I believe it was with MTV, but I am having trouble finding it now. Until the game releases nothing is set in stone or finalized though.

Right now I am trying to not form any hard opinions on Diablo 3 one way or the other because of this.

Edit from http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/faq/
How much will Diablo III cost? Where can I buy this game?

Pricing and availability for Diablo III will be determined and announced closer to the release of the game.
