Diablo III confirmed for consoles.

I'm actually relieved I will be able to play it on consoles. When I first heard about it about a year ago I was pretty disappointed, but then I couldn't even figure out why I was upset so I figured "eh, why not". Now I'm thinking I probably will get it on a console instead. All of my friends are on the 360, and I get bored easily while playing video games with nobody to talk to so Diablo on the 360 would be convenient for me. I'm also much more comfortable playing on a couch and with a controller than with keyboard and mouse on a chair. Best yet, you won't have to be connected to online at all times (they can't do that for a console game, right?). It's going to be the same price on PC, so might as well get it on a console. I'm not even sure if my PC is going to able to run it. So what do you think?

By the way, I'm not saying it is better on the consoles, I'm saying I would prefer it on an Xbox rather than a PC.

Apparently, even though the person on Twitter clearly said it was confirmed, Blizzard says it still is not confirmed. "Bashiok's response on Twitter was intended as a confirmation that we're actively exploring the possibility of developing a console version of Diablo III, as we've mentioned in the past. This is not a confirmation that Diablo III is coming to any console platform. Our focus right now is on finishing the PC/Mac version of Diablo III and making sure it's a worthwhile successor to the Diablo series." Yeah. Definitely what he said.

It's good that it is being released on the other systems. Being a PC gamer myself, I wasn't effected by it. But many of my friends don't have the most up to date systems and prefer to play games on their consoles (which is fair enough). I would love it (this is a big stretch to ask but eh) if you could go play multiplayer online across console and PC. That would, in my opinion make them so many sales.

But I was looking forward to D3 ever since I finished D2.

I suppose it could work but part of Diablos feel is controlling the entire game with M+K and a few number buttons, it'd take a lot away on consoles.

I wonder how the controls will work out, minus the mouse to check items and open chests, etc.

I'm still probably not going to pick this up since the game seems to be shunning modders, which made the old Diablo 2 so excellent and replayable.

I can see it working on consoles. The entire game can be played using nothing but mouse. Sure it's the most precise controller, but I guess they can figure out how to make it worn on consoles. It shouldn't be hard. Maybe using move on PS3? I'm not really excited about Diablo 3 anyway, as a PC gamer. I won't even get it. That's right. A PC gamer won't buy Diablo 3. Wanna know why? Always-on DRM. I bet console version won't have that.

See: Torchlight on XBLA. Feels much better compared to the PC version.

Seeing as I no longer have a gaming rig and I've been looking forward to D3 for ages, I'm very happy to hear D3 should be arriving on consoles. I just hope it actually works and isn't crap.

Good. I'm glad. If I get to whine about how I want Dark Souls on the PC, then it's only fair you get Diablo 3. In fact, I'd love it if there were fewer PC-only or console-only games. Sure, I understand the need for "true" exclusives (games on only one console) to promote the platform, but it always pisses me off when a game comes out on the 360 and the PS3, but not on the PC.

Here's to hoping more games come out on more platforms so we all have more stuff to play!

I don't see a reason why not to have cross-platform multiplayer. Usually, the problem with cross-platform play is that the PC players pretty much destroy the console players, but that's because it's always done with FPS.
