Not sure how many of you heard about this, but their reasoning behind refusing to unban the accounts and/or look into why their security is creating a false positive seems a little fishy.

Hehe this is ridiculous, i'm so glad i didn't buy that train wreck of a game...

Also, kudos to the clinically retarded people that clamor that "not supported = should be banned", not supported means (to me anyways) "You're on your own if you have problems" not "we'll ban you! no refunds, no appeal, go F yourself"

Somewhere on those forums someone blames EA for all the games problems. I kid you not EA. There may be a lot to dislike about EA but they had nothing to do with D3. It's amazing how much people can fool them self's. But to some people Blizzard can do no wrong.

I saw a few "I'd expect this sh*t from EA" but no one blaming EA for this...

And to tell the truth, i'd be pissed beyond belief if i was one of the user banned without cause or warning for using WINE.

Edit: I love sarcasm :)
Working as intended. Linux users are known to be cheap and less likely to buy from the RMAH. You're useless to Blizzard and can't keep up with botters on windows to sell on the RMAH so you're just taking up space. They might let you play again for another $60 though.

It was on those forums it wasn't on that thread. It was something along the lines of I blame EA they set and example or something like that. Also I would be pissed too it's not ok then need to unban those people. I guess they had a similar thing happen with WOW when it started.

Yeah, then they apologized, reversed it and gave some free gametime to the users inconvenienced, there's no good reason this should happen "again".

They'll have a PR nightmare on their hands, it's already #1 article on Reddit's frontpage hahaha...

People are just idiots. I've met people who didn't want to pull soldiers out of Iraq because "we need to make them pay for 9/11." Uh, wrong country and organization. At least EA is largely within the same country as Blizzard, you know? Not that it excuses anything, but....

"So glad I didn't buy dis game herp derp"

Oh please, like you people even use Linux.

I didn't buy the game at launch, and so far have had no problems with the game. Sucks for them, but I can't feel sympathy for everyone. Its not a bad game, as far as action rpgs go its probably one of the most polished. Probably not as in depth as Torchlight 2 or Grim Dawn will be, but I've played BAD games, this is not one of them.

Hating Blizzard has been going on since World of Warcraft. Just stop it already. You're beating a dead horse and nobody CARES. This is only an issue to those involved.

Just because EA is the Satan of video games doesn't mean Dead Space or Battlefield 3 are bad games. In fact, most of the people on this forum loved Mass Effect 3 (besides the ending). Its just bad customer support, it will get fixed eventually. A lot of people bought the game, its going to take a while.

Im glad you got banned if you are upset from getting kicked from D3 for the simple reason not to waste your time with a poorly made game.
How is it poorly made? Sure they have been making some stupid decesions as of late, but the game itself is quite solid.

Shows you how far people will lie in order to make Blizzard look bad. If the game was as bad as these people make out you'd have thought its negatives would show through enough on their own without the need to fabricate additional flaws.

I guess I would still be concerned about the other players that were using WINE, but were banned also. Yes, Blizz SHOULD ban players for cheating. I won't come out and say that ALL of them were lying... but we still should watch Blizz and see how they react. to these accusations. (and possibly wait for more information on the other players that used WINE also?)

...don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch.

I don't know why on earth anyone would actually want to play games on WINE rather than just a windows partition, unless they've got some really really powerful hardware. My Linux laptop struggles to play games from the late 90's using WINE, but the Windows partition will run games up to about 5 years ago. If players want to play on WINE though, Blizzard should just let them, as I imagine that keeping people playing should be their number one priority right now, considering all the problems they've had.

Watching this carefully, mildly optimistic that they aren't banning solely for Wine.

Makes me not want to boot up Starcraft II on that partition even though I've been playing happily for a while. Quite glad I haven't got D3 yet as well, everything I've heard about it since it came out has just been bad news after bad news.
