Diablo III's Expansion May Only Cost $30

i know this math is kind of stupid and it's been done before but 30$ is half what it costs to buy diablo 3, so unless it contains roughly half the content of the game it's not freaking worth 30$. to be fair diablo 3 ruined blizzard for me for a while so there is no way they are getting any of my money for many years to come. the game is horrible. it's not what it was supposed to be. but that aside 30$ is ridiculous. 10-15$ is more likely what i'd be willing to pay for an expansion to a good game.

Blizzard expansion packs are traditionally sold at the $40 price point, if you'd read the whole article instead of just the title.

...it's a step in the right direction, at least... they're acquiescing to industry standards much like a cat that begs praise for not pissing on your mattress.

It continued that "The Standard Edition includes the Reaper of Souls expansion; the Collector's Edition includes the expansion, exclusive in-game content, and other bonus items."

So... Nobody seems to ask about the "exclusive in-game content"? Since when did Collector Edition ever have exclusive in-game content in Blizzard games? I really loved that company but ever since they released Cataclysm they just went down the hill sitting on a boulder...

I'm really considering if I'm going to spend a penny on any Blizz stuff...

You mean in-game visual nonsense? Sorry, that's been in there for a while now. SC2 has "skins" for some units based on what version you bought, some trans-game stuff from their other titles/expansions, and WoW has had "exclusive" rewards for a WHILE now. I don't know how you're just now seeing this stuff.

TL;DR: Oh no, you won't get cool purple/black/bony/pony wings Blizzard will give to the collector's edition buyers. And the murloc/hogger/derpherp pet. CAST DENOUNCE, DEAL 10 CONSUMER SATISFACTION DAMAGE!

I would be down for a 30 dolla price. That definitely makes it more appealing for a personal purchase.

Diablo 3 doesn't have any of the "skin" stuffs. And I have thought it's about bonus zones, or starting gear.
You are probably right they might incorporate something like this as 'bonus content'.

Kind of a bummer that they didn't decide on $30. Had to come back to this article and double-check.

I've defended Blizzard on the Escapist forums before, but this is kind of lame.
