OT: Well, weird. I mean, it's just sort of random and bizarre. Also, whoever is Horloogiyn Choybalsan

The bear most likely represents Russia and how Choybalsan was a close follower of Stalin and followed his methods.

I think it represents cuddliness.

Sieg heil to you too. What would be the female name for Hitler, actually? Adolfa?

OK, that would make sense, then. I was surprised by the bear, because it hit me that there could have been tentacles there. Watching that expression certainly makes it believable... erm, and I just want to point out that we don't see the entirety of the bear. Let's just say, we don't know where the rest of it is and leave it at that.

I think all the stuff from Japan that makes us go "eh?" or "what?" or "eww" can be justified by saying "Well, it's Japan. That's just what they do."

Several of these have an up-skirt with a well-outlined mons, and you're asking whether we think they're in bad taste? Of course they are, and they're not very funny, either. But then, I don't wish I was Japanese, so I don't instantly attribute cleverness and creativity to anything that resembles anime.

Honestly, though, many of these don't make any sense. Some of them are okay (Pol Pot, for example), but the vast majority of them are just sexualized female forms with a sideways, throwaway reference to the supposed subject material. I mean, honestly, with a few exceptions (Mao, for example), if you just showed this to someone without the label underneath, they'd have no idea it was supposed to be a charicature of that person.

So, overall, yet again the internet has made me feel those same old feelings. Namely,

All I can think is 'bit weird', I'm not offended or anything I'm just trying to figure out whats the point. This must be how it feels to be Karl Pilkington.
Man, that one sentence is Mr. K Dilkington in a nutshell :D

OT: Did Hugo Chavez have bleach-blonde hair? It's not really a "gender bend", it looks more like some random girls dressing up in vaguely-related outfits.

Haha this was quite funny.

Although I'm not sure they are originally intended to be only dictators, I wonder what the original Japanese cover says. Whether you like the politics of for example Chavez or not it's kind of hard to claim that he is a dictator.

I don't see how they're supposed to look like the dictators. Where's Fidel's cigar?
Over hi- her shoulder!

Reminds me a lot of <url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axis_Powers_Hetalia>this anime, that's supposed to be a historical WWII representation with countries represented by persons.

[HEADING=1]OH JAPAN!!![/HEADING]

That's all I really have to say on the matter. So to avoid a low-content warning, here is a picture of Hitler as a pikachu;

I very much agree with you, in keeping with my previous post and Karl Pilkington I occasionally look at a post saying how amazing everything anime related is and all I can think is:

I know this is a semi-joke but I can't believe no one's called out the OP for lumping that one crazy subsect of Japan that always churns out the weird stuff with all of Japan. I'm not even close to being a weeaboo but I'm pretty sure this is analogous to grouping all Americans with the WBC. Come on people, Japan does have its crazy shit but sometimes it really is as crazy to them as it is to you or me. Like these pictures. I think.

only the japanese could turn hitler into a demonic little evil painter school girl
Xenophobic, extremely racist culture that was not only an ally of Hitler but also was stiff competition for the Third Reich's kill count of civilians in death camps.

Yea, with that in mind, no surprise that Hitler is viewed as a cute and lovable schoolgirl painter.
Oh come on, you have to be very stiff not to have a good chuckle at the genderbent moe versions of dictators. Doesn't matter what you think of Japan, this is just brilliant...

At last! I can fap to Hitler without feeling gay! ...er... I mean... *cough*

Yeah, as most people have said, if there had been more effort to include characteristics of the dictators in question then I might have liked these. The Hitler one almost has the Hitler fringe and the painting reference, Ceaucescu at least gets the background right, Duvalier kind of got a voodoo reference in there, they got Pinochet's hat right, the massive pile of skulls for pol pot works ok, and why were none of the African dictators black?

That said, Saddam and Mao felt right, something about the hair on Saddam, I think his wife might have had a similar hairstyle or something like that.

Edit: Tojo kind of works too, and the ones from Turkmenistan and Central African Republic, have elements right if I remember my history correctly.
