Had a nightmare somewhat related to Metro 2033, and specifically the librarians. Right before going to sleep I had gotten stuck on that section (Protips: Don't make bullet sponge enemies in games that revolve around ammo conservation. It's a dick move, especially when the melee weapon couldn't tickle a baby.) and I was VERY short on sleep.

Banjo Tooie I believe on the n64. It was like every time you quit the game or died the creepy witch villain would do this laugh that scared the crap out of me. I did hear it once or twice in nightmares...

I had one recently about World of Tanks. My IS-4 was insta killed by some tier VI medium who was given ATGM's and FLIR.

I was never so scarred, and pissed at the same time.

A couple nights ago, I had a nightmare involving being chased around by a couple of monsters. One involved a eight-foot-tall behemoth visibly resembling a six-armed Hunter from Halo. But dealing with it was a lot like a couple of forays I had with some of the armed thugs from Batman: Arkham City (circling around a piece of cover to get behind an armed thug that actually knows I'm there). Even the eventual take down I performed on it was from B:AC. The dream ended with another encounter with one, coupled with something that looked like a rabid monkey which also had six arms and ran like a zombie from one of the many zombie games (I know I had specific name in mind, but I cannot remember which. I just know the zombie had a lope in its step. Tell me which game it came from). Before waking up, that encounter did not end well.

I spent my youth watching horror movies. The sounds of Jason, Mike, and Freddy gleefully slaughtering people were my lullabys.

Sorry, but horror games dont give me nightmares.

Anyone remember Dark Cloud? I played that pretty easily when I was like, ten, but then I got to the last level-- the Gallery of Time. Scared the fuck out of me. Something about the music and the aesthetic, a castle which became increasingly ruined as the level progresses and you travel through time.

Also, to a smaller extent, Majora's Mask. Ikana Canyon was pretty creepy.

If you got the Ranger DLC, there was an awesome heavy automatic shotgun that made short work of them. Alternatively, you can stare them down, and if you did it correctly, they would walk away.

On topic: Ocarina of Time, of all things, when I was a kid.

Yes, in real life I was stuck on a battle in Shining Force. It was the battle against General Elliot. Elliot looked like a pretty creepy fucker so naturally I dreamed about him.

In the dream, I was standing on top of my university. There was a very large gust of wind that pushed me off. I fell onto the ground and landed in front of General Elliot. He glared at me and then stabbed me with his sword.

Then I woke up.

Resident Evil 2 and Condemned: Criminal Origins. The second one is sad, because I'm playing Condemned: Bloodshot right now and it is pretty non-frightening what with all the mood killing campiness.

It's not that they're hard to fight. If I had unlimited ammo they would be laughably easy. It's just nobody told me I had to spend every bullet I had on more ammo at the start of the chapter, so even with accuracy around 90% I was completely boned.

I once had a dream that Disney made a movie about Mass Effect 3. It involved a tiny, friendly Reaper (named "Reapsly") that had big cartoon eyeballs and a squeaky voice. He mostly flew around being making bad jokes and obnoxious pop culture references.

Does that count?

Pokemon and Zelda. I'm not even joking. I wasn't scared of the games, per se, but I would have these really freaky dreams (mind you I was very young) where it would be sort of like the game, but things weren't right. Lavender town was the bane of sleep when I was 7....

Tetris . Dat blue block man . Seriously . I played so much tetris when it came out on the DS i saw falling blocks when i closed my eyes . I slept so horrible that week .

Off-topic. Anyone else hates when they dream about an MMO and you get a super rare item or level nicely only to wake up and realize it was just a dream? Fucking hate that man.

Silent Hill 3

It's the only entry in the series into which I've poured any significant amount of play time, so obviously it gave me nightmares.

Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal actually scared the shit out of me in my dreams. That and those fucking Regenerators from RE4, that breathing will never stop sending chills up my spine.

Maybe...

About three weeks after finishing Silent Hill 3, there was one night where I simply could not get to sleep. My mind kept wandering back to the blood-covered walls in the sewer and hospital, the Closers and their twitchy faces, the Slupers...yeah. It got to the point where I had to turn on the light and make sure I was alone.
Made the mistake of playing the Silent Hill Collection recently late into the night. Never again.

Now that I think about it, I think I may have had a slight nightmare regarding Silent Hill. Going through a neighborhood and everything was blood red and monsters were stalking me. Or I'm remembering part of the game. I honestly can't remember, it's been so long.

Look at James and how he might as well be named 'Alex,' since you're Alex and he's you.
This right here freaked me out when I first read it, because my name is also Alex.

OT: My nightmares are traditionally combinations of several different "inspirations." I've had a crazy one which was basically a mix between Silent Hill and *Insert Zombie Game/Film here*. I also had another when I was younger one that was a mixture between Mars Attacks and Star Wars.
