Did Anyone Else Buy a 3DS?!

After reading about Nintendo cutting the price of the 3DS and after hearing all the news on how bad it's doing, I was wondering, How Many of You bought a 3DS and why? I bought a 3DS as i've never bought a DS and I wanted one, so I waited for the 3DS to come out and bought that. I've been playing old DS games and a few 3DS games and I love it. I don't regret buying it at all. The only reason I can think of to not buy one is the crappy 3DS games. If you bought the 3DS solely for 3DS games, it's understandable that you could be disappointed. I've also seen people saying the 3DS is a gimmick but the biggest draw to the 3DS for me was the improved grapics and overall controls. I don't normally complain about graphics but they put me off buying an old DS. Also, it benefits from having an analog stick. Anyway, to sum up, I LOVE my 3DS but did anyone else buy one? If so, were you disappointed?

actually the 3DS is doing far, FAR better than the DS and PSP were during this point in their lives (they even had a holiday season). But what can I say, people are a bunch of spoiled brats who demand instant gratification and are never, EVER satisfied because the net has destroyed people's patience and attention spans.

I don't regret buying my 3DS and I am very grateful to Nintendo for going out of their way to reward people by giving 20 FREE games

Haven't bought one yet, but now that the price cut was announced, I'm definitely interested. Replaying Ocarina of Time and Lylat Wars is actually enough to warrant a purchase with the price cut. I won't be using the 3D feature, though.

I'm just waiting for better releases before I buy one. The promise of Kingdom Hearts and a new Paper Mario is exciting (never cared for Ocarina), but for the moment, that's really all they are. Promises. I'm just waiting for confirmation on it's success/failure, as I really don't want to buy a system no one will make games for.

Also, that 3D is absolutely horrendous. It might be a problem with my eyesight (although it's the same with and without glasses, don't know if it makes much of a difference), but I've only been able to get the system at a proper 3D-displaying angle once. Every other time the image just splits. Needless to say if I do buy it, I'll be playing with the 3D off.

Hence why I'm relying so much on it's potential lineup. Stripped of it's main gimmick, it's just an updated DS.

I'm pretty sure that the type of person you describe has always existed. It's just that now they're louder due to internet.

I was really excited for the 3DS but didn't end up getting one because of reports of a lousy battery life. Most likely I'll be waiting for the inevitable 'lite' version and see if it's any better.

I'm waiting for a better library of games and the inevitable 'Lite' version with better screen resolution and battery life.

i got one. its great and a vast improvement over my light. wouldn't mind a few extra games but at least i can play my regular one while i wait.

the online store is great and i'm super pumped for the extra 20 fuckin' FREE games.

not regretting this purchase in the least.

also it'd be hilarious if one day nintendo just flat out states that there won't be a 'lite' version. that would give me a good chuckle.

I did, and while I really don't play it, I certainly don't regret buying it. Just waiting for the Mario games really.

I decided not to buy it because there weren't enough games I was interested in. I was personally holding out for the new paper mario but I might be interested now.

I bought one too. I'm pretty much on the same boat as you. I bought a 3ds ( didn't have a regular ds) and am enjoying a bunch of ds games and a few 3ds games.

I'm waiting on games. The launch lineup was lack luster in my opinion. Mario Kart 3DS, Paper Mario 3DS, Luigi's Mansion 2, SSB4... all of these games, I would like to get my hands on. Unfortunately, they're still in the Pipeline.

I like my 3DS because it is basically a souped up DS with extra applications. The 3D is just an (optional) bonus, yet people still complain about it.

The lack of games so far is disappointing, but with great titles like those listed by mew4ever23, plus kid icarus uprising, I think I can stow it and wait patiently.

Super Smash brothers four is going to be on the 3DS? Why not the consoles?

This is exactly what I'm doing, I'm not going to make the same mistake and end up with a clunky piece of shit like I did with the DS.

Now that the price is being lowered and the games i really want (luigis mansion 2, super Mario, Mario kart) are coming out soon, I am so gonna buy one as my own Christmas present. plus I never got to play Legend of Zelda ocarina of time (im only 14) and hearing its a part of gaming history and possibly the greatest game of all time I figure I should. And why not take it wherever I go.

It's gonna be on both the 3DS and the WiiU, as a WiiU Launch Title too!

OT: Already posted my 2 cents, just wanted to let Mr. Swift know.

Someone missed Nintendo's E3 conference. It's coming to Wii U and 3DS and the 2 versions will be able interact "in some fashion". Iwata promised it.

I want to say that I'm done with Nintendo consoles for now, especially with the current economy. I'm kinda tired of getting a new DS or PS every one or two years.
