Yes, it looks like a return to old shooters.... But those shooters really weren't that great. The genre improved and everyone needs to quit bitching. Serious Sam was always brown and now it's more brown. Grats! We have a game that suffers from modern FPS problems with old FPS gameplay (translation: simple, repetitive and, overall, boring)

Yea i bought it a while ago i got the SERIOUS DIGITAL DELUXE Edition it is just sheer awesomeness. its nice to see SOMETHING DIFFERENT because when i mention a FPS to my friends they SAY COD OR BF3 and while i did enjoy BF3 and Burned COD:MW3 i played Serious Sam 3 BFE and it through me back in time and gave me beer googles to go along with it and by that i mean It throws me back to when FPS's were fun simple run gun fun and by the beer googles i mean they gave it A BIG OVERHAUL in the graphics department.
It plays Awesome looks awesome and if your a fan of serious sam or FPS's that go back to the good old days then go pick it up instead of getting BF3 or MW3 where you hide and suck your thumb until the bullet wound heals

There is something about Quake that will make me love it dearly forever, but Serious Sam lost a lot with it's age.
I don't really mind all the brown since it has obvious Egypt themes, and it's quite colourful apart from the sand everywhere.
But it does suffer from modern problems combined with older gameplay limitations. That "aim-down-the-sights" looked awful, at least it isn't necessary and you can play without it, no matter how awkward it feels to shoot from "the hip" like in older games.

The tagline didn't lie. "No cover. All man." This is the kind of mad, twitchy shooter I've been missing, and it works like a charm. It basically boils down to "Disregard fancy gameplay mechanics, murder all alien invaders." ^^

Disappointed that there's not more reaction to it on the forums - so many people don't know what they're missing out on...Also, impressed that it runs fine on my laptop (albeit on crap-tastic settings), can't wait to try it out on my desktop over christmas.
On a side note, still not installed BF3... now it feels like I don't need to
