I always just assumed, you know, alternate dimensions.

Where the war always turns out the same.

..And the dimensions progressively get higher graphic resolutions.

It's uncreative because it reuses characters from previous games? ...Might I remind you of the purpose of a SEQUEL.

unless LoTRs are uncreative.
or the starwars movies.
i feel its nearly the same.
Also i think if ANYTHING they have gotten out of a "slum" of creating WWII games and going twords something slightly new.

either way,
CoD4 is win.
and MW2 is GOING to be win.

:D
Couldn't agree more with you!

Using (pretty much) the same character a few times isn't a good enough case for a wholesale lack of creativity. Were you not paying attention AT ALL while playing CoD4?

That cutscene roughly halfway into the game where the nuke goes off and you get to experience the slow and painful death of the Marine you've been playing for most of the game in first person? Oh, what about that scene where you watch the president's execution in first person?

This is awesome storytelling. Infinity Ward's creativity is far from gone.

I'm pretty sure making one of the best multiplayer FPS's ever makes up for reusing a couple of character names.

It's a WW2 game. I don't see how it can get much less creative.

EDIT: except for 4. That was somewhat more original, ish.

Oh, noes! A series of games is reusing something that could be considered their trademark during the course of several games!
Whatever shall we do?

This is like complaining that every Halo game had a Warthog or that every Mario game has a toad character in it. Not worth complaining over.
Now if another series were to use these trademarks, there would be a problem. That'd be plagiarism, the poison of all creativity. However, I think it's safe to say that Infinity Ward would have a really hard time stealing ideas from themselves.

but...but i love Captain Price. He was the best character in those games, besides "Soap" Mactavis.

I remember playing all of the call of duty games...but there was something that made me think and install the rest of the games to find out.
THE NAMES ARE ALL THE SAME !?
That's right.Captain price lived through World war 2 then another world war 2 and now after about 60ish years he's still alive.I was thinking he would look more like this now.

Also i noticed the guy, Miller. He's remembered from cod2.I mean come on.They recycled lots of names and even some voices. Can't they get original.

P.S i know this is old, but it just kept bumping in my head for the past 2 years.
There two sepreate Prices. The one from WW2 was killed at the end of the first game.

I'm not trying to troll or anything, but I can't understand that.

all i'm trying to say is just because game are sequels doesn't make them un-creative.
Ah, I see. Well, I agree completely, but I think his point isn't about there beign sequels, but more about the recycled characters.

true true,
however maybe there trying to tie the two games together some way?

i mean starwars would be at a major loss if the 2nd movie had no yoda

Cod original kicked so much ass, if it weren't for multiplayer I'd say it's better than modern warfare, but sadly, no. Captain Price is a recurring character, and a badass one at that.

The only thing he is missing in the under beard.
I disagree. I've seen pictures of my relatives/ancestors from around the mid to late 1800's and some of them look very much like one of my currently living uncles. So it is possible that the Captain Price in MW is related to the Captain Price from the WW2 CoD games

What? All of the CoD games so far have been completely unrelated to each other (besides the setting). You play as different characters in different parts of the world. The OP noted that the devs are recycling face models and names throughout the games. I'm guessing it's just a reminder, or just a little thing they put to amuse people who have been playing all their games.
