I decided to give S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl another go the other day and didn't just want to plough through the story so I did a bit of exploring and got kitted out with end game equipment before getting too far into the game.

(Potential spoilers ahead but it came out in 2007 so meh)

Finally I picked up the mission to get the reasearch documents from X-18 and ploughed through the bandit base to get the key without breaking a sweat, I noticed I was a little bit low on ammo but thought nothing of it and set off to the lab.

After having a bit of a laugh at the comical way in which the Poltergeists attack I let rip and started purging some freaks. I quickly found myself down to pistol ammo when it got to the room with the Pseudo Giant who didn't really seen that bothered about my presence so I just QWOPed past and grabbed the door code cheekily shooting the bastard in the face as I went.

Admiring my newly acquired irradiated Balls Of Steel I proceeded into the final room, upon my horror the instant the door sealed behind me I realised I used all my ammo up irritating the Giant, while trying to work out why the hell I did that the Pyrogeist occupying the room decided to put on a spread of fire to welcome me in.

So down to my knife and wearing an exoskeleton suit I proceeded to follow him around stabbing him when possible, after 2 hours I finally did It and brought the roof down in a cry of relief.

So after that long winded story my question is what moment in gaming has made you want to question why you did that exactly?

Well there was that time I flooded my Dwarfy Fortress while trying to build a well. I didn't really know much about how water pressure worked at the time so I figured diverting an entire river through a section of the fort wouldn't be too catastrophic. The next thing I knew, I had turned a landlocked Fortress into a reenactment of the Titanic tragedy.

I once killed a player in CS:S using a smoke grenade. Nailed him right between the eyes. He went down like a sack of hammers and slid into a sewer. The entire server voicechat exploded into sounds of "amazing!" and "hax!"

Playing Drakan: Order of the Flame back when it came out I found myself in a cave trapped on a crate, that the enemies couldn't reach me on, and low on health. When I went to load my game I realized I hadn't saved in hours and I definitely didn't want to do all the work over again so I saved instead and hoped for some health.

There were at least half a dozen smaller enemies and five or six orcs all milling around me that killed me the moment I hopped off my sanctuary. All I had for the bow was regular arrows and they took down the small guys pretty quickly but the orcs looked like pincushions by the time I was finished; I made a game of trying to stick an arrow in their tongues.

This took forever and my arrows finally ran out but there was still a couple of enemies left so I hopped off my crate and ran around in circles, hitting them when I could, letting them chase me until they were dead. The next room over didn't have any enemies and I managed to find a chest with a health potion in it and when I went to my inventory to use it....there was a second one sitting there all along that I somehow missed.

It was fun at least.

-I can't get over a part from Rayman Origins: sections of the game have you chasing a running treasure chest in a scrolling level and so much random crap happens along the way. A lot of them are insane to get through, but I remember this one beach level where I'm running over exploding platforms and immediately swan diving into a swimming section. It's so seamless and flows so well the word "cinematic" is the only word that can describe it.

-Final Fantasy 7, the Red Dragon boss from the Temple: my first play through had this thing killing me thousands of times. I played it recently and was prepping all the buffs (haste, barrier, etc.) and started with Cloud's Meteorain...instant kill. / Not epic or amazing but something I've never heard anyone else doing - on visiting Shinra tower for the 2nd time, I decide for whatever reason to climb the stairs again. Halfway through I find a Behemoth Horn weapon for Red XIII (it's actually decent). No strategy guide I've seen mentions it and no FAQ I've read lists it.

-Legend of Dragoon, the Faust(?) optional boss. For a game I was overall not thrilled with, he was surprisingly one of the toughest bosses I've ever seen - I must have replayed it 50 times. On the last playthrough, I'm down to just Dart in Dragoon mode with no revive items. I know Faust's next move will kill me and I'm deliberating on trying to heal or defend or whatever. I just say screw it and launch a last-ditch special move which kills him. Beating a boss is one thing, but doing it with a hail-mary climax after so much frustration is what makes it special.

-I remember playing NBA Jam with my brother and he would always get "hoops on fire" specials which I was so jealous of. I don't know what I did but somehow I eventually did a "break-the-basket", which, if remember right, was in slow-mo and was just 10x more epic.

Umvc 3 . Every time i win a match with x-23 as my last character without x-factor . Now i play x-23 on point , but once in a while she'll be the last one alive . Despite being my best character , x-23 is absolute trash as an anchor , especially without x-facot . 9 out of 10 times in this situation i'll lose . But that one time i do win , feels so damn awsome !

Recently I was playing Civ V as the Hunnian Empire. I started a war with China and razed Shanghai to the ground. Years (turns) later, I negotiated a peace treaty with China that involved them handing over the newly built Shanghai to me.

Civilization V: I come for the strategy, I stay for the hilarious world history rewrites.

Bioshock Infinite, crouching behind cover I had Elizabeth summon. Then I have her summon a mosquito to try and take out the guy with the rocket launcher i was hiding from.

I was playing awesomenauts, And as Voltar (For those of you who don't play, he is the healer, has very limited offensive capability), Two of my team mates went down, leaving only me. Thought, "What the hell" as the 3 Red team advanced to get me, launched my droids on suicide mode. Triple kill.

I screamed quite loud with joy.

Heres a story about the amaxing diplomacy AI in Empire Total War

so im playing prussia who usually have a rocky start but are amazing when theyre get larger and im at war with Austria, France, Netherlands and some german states. as you can imagine i dont want to be in any more wars right then but poland declares war on me.
so i enter diplomacy with them to negotiated a peace treaty and as usual i just go for white peace but i accidently pressed the "accept or we will attack" option... against the country who declared war on me.... and they accepted.
so poland declares war and when i tell them i want peace or i will fight in the war they started against me they immdiately wanted a truce. now this was weird but it happened 7 turns in a row!

"hey Prussia we are going to fight you!"
"declare peace or we will fight you back...."
"ok ok, no need to get violent here. peace it is."

I actually won a few matches in BlazBlue yesterday. That's damn rare. I even managed to use a super! It hit too! Apparently throwing out Wisdom of the Divines when you're backed into a corner wins you games. I'm excited just when I get the super to come out most of the time. I don't know which is worse now, the half circle forward or the double quarter circles T_T

Then all today it's nothing but #Tagerswag for an hour :(

Also tower dive. We must. Tower dive. *dies*

Barrier baits?! Are you freaking kidding me?!
