I decided to give S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl another go the other day and didn't just want to plough through the story so I did a bit of exploring and got kitted out with end game equipment before getting too far into the game.
(Potential spoilers ahead but it came out in 2007 so meh)
Finally I picked up the mission to get the reasearch documents from X-18 and ploughed through the bandit base to get the key without breaking a sweat, I noticed I was a little bit low on ammo but thought nothing of it and set off to the lab.
After having a bit of a laugh at the comical way in which the Poltergeists attack I let rip and started purging some freaks. I quickly found myself down to pistol ammo when it got to the room with the Pseudo Giant who didn't really seen that bothered about my presence so I just QWOPed past and grabbed the door code cheekily shooting the bastard in the face as I went.
Admiring my newly acquired irradiated Balls Of Steel I proceeded into the final room, upon my horror the instant the door sealed behind me I realised I used all my ammo up irritating the Giant, while trying to work out why the hell I did that the Pyrogeist occupying the room decided to put on a spread of fire to welcome me in.
So down to my knife and wearing an exoskeleton suit I proceeded to follow him around stabbing him when possible, after 2 hours I finally did It and brought the roof down in a cry of relief.
So after that long winded story my question is what moment in gaming has made you want to question why you did that exactly?
