Did I really just play for that long?

Yea we have all had our fair share of video game marathons whether they be all nighters with friends or the inevitable release day non-stop marathon or maybe just a significant amount of time put into a game in a short period of time. Over this past week I have played around 40 hours of Fallout New Vegas and the previous week I played around 20 hours of Oblivion. Had it not been for my part time job more time would have been spent playing and chatting with friends on xbox live. Needless to say I have been on a Bethesda binge and plan on playing Skyrim when it comes out for God only knows how many hours, unfortunately I will be in school so I won't be able to play as long...

But I digress...My question to you is what games and for how long have you put far too much time into, but we all know that it was time well spent :)

I have also spent a tremendous amount of time playing Fallout New Vegas. So far my longest straight playtime on it was about 8 hours and it would have gone a lot longer if I hadn't had to go to school the next day.

Mount&Blade. I had a friend over and we both played the Star Wars mod for M&B literally all night. At least 12 straight hours of hack&slashy RPGy Star Warsy goodness.

Minecraft. That game eats up time like nothing else. It doesn't matter what you do. Just gonna look around? End up exploring the map for an hour. Gonna make a small modification to your house? All of a sudden it's a castle. I regret nothing however.

The longest I have ever been on a bing is playing Starcraft for 12 hrs strait. My mom had to come up next to me and yell in my ear to get my attention.

My head and eyes ache if I play for longer than 3 hours. And I get kind of antsy anyway, and need to move. I don't know what my longest was. Probably Mass Effect 2 for 5 hours or so.

I quit WoW not too long after Burning Crusade, but after it initially came out I was playing every waking moment that I wasn't at work for a week in huge stretches just to try to keep up with my guildmates in levels. I wanted to experience the new instances with my guildmates and was afraid of being left behind in levels. This translated into huge 12+ hour stretches until I hit 70 since those who didn't have jobs easily got ahead of me.

Despite the more positive social aspects they can have, there's a reason I've sworn off MMORPGs ever since.

You finished around 40 hrs of gameplay in 48 hrs, give or take? Entirely possible, but that's an epically long undertaking.
Indeed there was about 10 seconds of triumph at the end and the rest of day was spent mourning the fact that ME3 wasn't coming out the next day

When I was a wee lad, I recall playing Starcraft: Brood War for ~2 nights straight. I just lose track of time with its custom user content. By the time I got off, my mom was pissed and I had trouble discerning the game from reality.

I spent 36 hours straight playing Final Fantasy X, specifically blitzball after I got the airship.

EDIT: My apologies for the double post, catcha or whatever that anti-spam thing is apparently decided to not post until I got it right, then not display what I posted

Sins of a Solar Empire.
One game in one sitting.

That game lasted 18 hours, I stood up afterwards and fell flat on my face because I'd lost all feeling in my legs.
