Did ME3 ruin Mass Effect for you?

Another way to look at this question is: Would you ever buy a Mass Effect product again even in best case scenario? (EA losing the IP being a start)

Or did the story ruin it for you?

yeah

I'll still buy Mass Effect if its good. The ending didn't ruin it for me. God forbid Mass Effect isnt the only story to end bad.

No, the final few minutes of a game did not retroactively take back all the enjoyment I had throughout the trilogy up until that point, and yes I would buy a Mass Effect product in all likelihood, if another one comes out.

I'm playing the first game again now, so no Mass Effect 3 didn't ruin the franchise for me.

However it now seems that Bioware heavily favour the "action" side of an action-rpg, so I have the feeling that they simply aren't going to be making the types of games I want to play.

That's the choice of them and their EA bosses and no doubt many people will enjoy that. Doesn't mean I am going tobe buying them though.

Nah, it didn't ruin the series for me.

It made a damn good try at it though.

Would I buy another one? Yeah... with trepidation. After all, we know they're going probably going to make more. They've said as much and it's not like EA is just going to can a series if they think it can still turn a decent profit.

I'd wait for the price to go down though. Bioware don't get my day-one dollar any more. Not after that ten minute turd.

There was nothing wrong with the ending, i don't know why people get so worked up over it.
If the history of these threads have taught us anything, it's that you will soon be shouted down by people who hated the ending so I better throw my support in now :)

Unless of course everyone is just sick to death of this topic since we've seen this same question asked a few times...

Anyway, I too liked the ending. Wasn't the best ending in the world but I thought that it was a good ending to the series. I would gladly purchase another Mass Effect game under Bioware (and would keep an eye on one if it was passed to someone else. It may be good but I'd be wary if it wasn't done by Bioware).

Not at all, Mass Effect 3 from a story perspective failed miserably, I don't even consider that it ever happened. Mass Effect 1 & 2 are still my favorite games of all time. Now that BioWare has said that there will be another Mass Effect I'm definitely interested but I'll be WAY more cautious before I decided to commit to a purchase.

BioWare is and has been on thin ice for some time now. It first started with DA2 which a lot of fans did not enjoy. Next is SW:ToR, which has had a shaky existence and finally ME3 with all the real and perceived issues surrounding it.

Only time will tell if they regain their former glory or continue their downward mediocre spiral.

Nah, the ME franchise isn't ruined for me. Seeing as how Shepard's saga is over, any other game from here on out will probably be a prequel or a sequel involving all new characters. I'd also like to think that Bioware learned from the whole ending debacle, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

No, I'd still buy another ME game after this. The ending didnt even ruin ME3 for me. Quite frankly, people blow the ending way out of porportion. It wasnt that bad.

Nope, not one bit. I am curious how they`re going to continue the storyline, but I know I`ll be there to follow what they do next.

It was the final straw in a game that was filled with mediocrity. The ending was blown out of proportion but only really because the rest of the game was as bad as it was.

Pretty much this. I get it, the ending had problems, but the amount of drama over it was just ridiculous. And extended cut was great to me, so I'm satisfied and am currently doing my third and fourth playthroughs. Also, ME3 was fantastic to me. I don't even remember when something managed to get me so emotional as ME series and especially ME3. I'll probably spend dozens of more hours on it and I don't regret it one bit.

Yes, It's kind of killed the series for me. I just hated most of mass effect 3. The extended cut was kind of the final nail in the coffin for me,

Nope. Heck, the ending of that game didn't even ruin Mass Effect 3 for me. As terribly as things may have gone down at the end there, Mass Effect still has a great characters and a great world. I'd totally buy another Mass Effect game, but I'd prefer something further down the line, after things have been given a little time. EA just seem to be way too eager to keep pumping out more Mass Effect, even considering how soon ago we hit the conclusion of the trilogy.

A bit with the ending however where all the ship gather for a epic final battle was still great even through I wish it would have been longer.
