My man Pit is still in, so yeah, I'm content.

I would have loved to see some more third-party characters, like maybe Simon Belmont, but you can't have everything, I suppose. And even the ones we got are really damn cool.

I'm disappointed that they took out Lucas, Snake and the Ice Climbers, but Ness has Lucas' special moves as alts and, according to Sakurai (or someone else on the development team), the 3DS couldn't handle the Ice Climbers. Snake, though, is probably just gone because of Konami. Shulk and Robin were unexpected, but really exciting additions, too. The other new characters are pretty cool, and they even brought back Dr. Mario, who I always liked more than Mario in the first place. I expect to be using Dr. Mario a lot in the future, especially since standard Mario is the best character in the demo, or at least is my favourite character.

I'm also kind of disappointed about Lucina and Dark Pit being straight-up clones, though I read that Lucina is actually a better fighter than Marth is since they nerfed Marth a lot by shortening his sword and stuff. I liked Dark Pit in Kid Icarus: Uprising more than Pit himself, if only because I liked his snark and stuff, but I was hoping that he'd showcase more of Uprising's weapons.

I was also hoping for a different Namco character, since they were involved in development. Pac-Man is a good choice based on his fame, but he's not really suited to be in a fighting game. A Tales of Symphonia character would have been a nice addition, since ToS was on the Gamecube, much like the first Metal Gear Solid was. I was, at one point, considering what it would be like if they included a Tekken or Soul Calibur character, but I thought that they wouldn't really fit, since the designs in those games are a bit too mature, in various ways, to fit in with Smash Bros.

I've come to the realization that I (like so many others) will never be 100% satisfied with the Smash Bros Roster. The current roster is really good as it stands so far, but I still find myself wishing that certain characters had made the cut.

First of all there are plenty of characters I would have loved to have seen enter the fray to represent series not currently present on the roster. The first of which is Isaac from Golden Sun. While he is another sword user, he very easily could have been a very unique fighter. Next I would say Ray MK III from Custom Robo. Another Assist Trophy from brawl and an underrated Nintendo series, but I see a lot of potential in this little guy. Isa Jo from Sin and Punishment: Star Successor is another one I would have liked to have seen added. Saki Amamiya is already an assist trophy and I think Sin and Punishment has a lot it can add to Smash.

There are also various characters from franchises already represented that I would have liked to have seen. F-Zero needs more love first of all. Adding someone like Black Shadow would have been perfect for the roster. Metroid is also long over due for more representation. They could have added almost anyone from Metroid and I would have been happy. Legend of Zelda is another franchise I think should have gotten another fighter. Midna and Ghirahim were at the top of my list, but they are assist trophy's so next up I would say Tetra would be an awesome addition.

Dixie and K.Rool both could have been great for Donkey Kong representation. Krystal from Starfox could have been really fun. Jimmy T from Warioware would have been amazing. Fighting with dance moves and such. Finally there is Geno from Super Mario RPG. It is such a shame he hasn't been able to make it in to the roster.

I also find myself wishing that some of the cut people were still in this. Makes this an all inclusive smash that leaves virtually no one out (except pichu cause he really wasn't very good.) Bring back Roy, Ice Climbers, Mewtwo, Wolf, Snake, and Lucas. They were all fun to have around.

Then of course comes the third party choices. There is only a few I would say for sure to be added. Simon Belmonte from Castlevania. He is an NES classic and has more than enough options to make a unique move set. Black Mage from Final Fantasy. Another NES classic that could easily fill a nice role. Last but not least Bomberman. This guy doesn't get much love any more, but he was pretty cool back in the day and would fit right in with Smash Bros.

I could easily go in depth in to possible move sets and play styles of the characters listed above, but this post is long winded enough as is. I just want to say that I love the current smash roster I just think there were plenty more awesome characters that could have made the cut.

It's a great roster overall. I wish there was another Zelda fighter like Midna, Mask Link, Impa, Ghirahim, Skull Kid etc. I know the roster is up to five Zelda characters, but Sheik is not technically a new character.

I was also hoping there was going to be a Grass starter to close up the trio of fire, water, and grass, which would have probably been either Sceptile or Serperior. I'm still a little annoyed we are probably going to be stuck with Jigglypuff till the end of time at this point. :/

I am still a little disappointed Chrom isn't playable, I wouldn't mind if he was just an alternate costume for Lucina or Marth. They already have a model made for Robin's final smash, maybe he could be a DLC character. Sure it would mean another blue haired swordsman, but I want mah Chrom!

Isaac from Golden Sun would still be a great addition, I will still hold on to the hope he(or someone else from Golden Sun) will appear in Smash Bros. sooner or later.

And of course I feel like Metroid needs more representation, either from the big guy himself, Ridley, or Dark Samus who also is not a total clone.

Despite my long list of little gripes, overall I think this is the best roster, and I like most of the newcomers.

The only character I really wanted to see was Lucina so I'm very happy, I was worried they'd drop Ike or Marth for Chrom instead. Robin was a wonderful surprise, I didn't expect to see them in there.

I'm happy with the lineup, I think they've got a good mix.
I'm always happy when they add more FE characters so that's nice. I'm not sure how much you can modify Robin, but I'd be really happy if you can change said character as much as in FE: Awakening. Probably not though. Wish that non-main characters from FE would show up because they're more interesting in general than the protags, but whatevs.

Really, I'm just sad that Snake is gone.

I didn't know I wanted Shulk in Smash bros before I the leak but I did then. :D

I'm still waiting on my Majora Link with his 3 masks abilities and his Fierce Deity Mask as a final smash though. :(

There were a few surprises that I enjoyed like Little Mac and Mega Man as well as Robin to name a few. But honestly I really only wanted Isaac, he was an AT in Brawl so I figured that they would have went all in for the new one, guess not Q_Q .I'll still hope that he can be in as a form of DLC or something (hopefully a character pack with a few others for a decent price would be nice)

Even if he's not in I enjoy the roster quite a bit, somewhat annoyed by Lucina, Dark Pit and Dr. Mario mostly Dark pit as Lucina is essentially had no effort put into her other than she's a re-skinned faster Marth and Dr. Mario has old Mario's moveset but as far as I heard Dark Pit is almost a complete clone which makes me kinda unhappy. Also Ganon not using his sword still bothers me as well as the removal of the Ice Climbers. Out of everything that one hurt the most since they were my joke main.

Duck hunt dog master race, screw the haters!

I feel like this is a really solid roster, as was stated earlier there is no excuse for ms. Pac-Man not being an alt for Pac-Man. I would have like a Golden Sun rep, and maybe another Metroid rep, the dark Samus assist trophy shows that they could have diversified the move set enough not to be a clone.

I'm not that interested in getting the new Smash Bros. I probably won't get another Nintendo system until the Wii U 2 (my filler name for the system obviously), maybe even the Wii U 3 (now, that's just silly). I find myself wanting to input on the roster anyway though. Pretty much agree with everyone I quote here especially Travis Touchdown.

Recently bought Okami and I'm like an hour or so into it. Wouldn't mind seeing a character from there in Smash Bros.

I agree, that would kick ass, the main character of Okami was in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 though if it's any consolation.

It might be if I thought I was going to play that game and even if I ever did, I would not fully accept the situation with Smash Bros unless I fell in love with and bought Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Sorry, you tried your best. I will just continue dreaming.
