Did you lurk before joining The Escapist?

So, after about a year of lurking I have joined The Escapist. I am loving the website (after sorting out my E-mail >_<) but I was just curious to see how many Escapists hung around the website before joining, and why? Did you have a reason or were you just not bothered at the time?

I just always felt an extreme bout of laziness. I'd see that "register" button and groan. Then finally just kinda did it one day.

Maybe for a few months before I joined up and became active.

What made me become active? Boredom.

And the forums have been blessed ever since.

Well yeah, like you I was lurking for about a year. I was just watching some of the shows on the website and occasionally looked at the forums. The forums started becoming more appealing to me so I ended up joining and viola! Here I am. I'm not exactly a regular yet or anything, but man lots of good fun and plenty of good discussions floating around. The community is awesome and there is plenty to stay around for.

How's it working out for you?

Yes I lurked for well over a year before I joined, I finally got around to joining to play some of the entries for the Stoinking Great Game Contest.

Yes i'll admit it i lurked around watching ZP and reading Stolen Pixels. There was always some interesting thread that i'd want to say something in but the whole registering thing kept me from doing so. Then i finally just said "fuck it" and made my account. It's been a pleasure since.

Yeah, I lurked for a full year before joining. I spent my time watching the videos and checking out the forums every now and then.

A slight bit, yes. I usually just clicked on an interesting thread on the side of a video, and read through that topic. Then I'd leave.

After I registered, I'd lurk a lot more, and post every now and then.

Then I began posting a lot, and lurking very little.

I found the Escapist and I enjoyed Zero Punctuation. I joined because there was this ZP game that's only exclusive for members.
I don't regret it.
