Did you play Rayman Origins?

I found on some websites that Rayman Origins' sales were depressively low, for a game released on multiple platforms that is. I'm just wondering who here has also bought the game. I'm kinda bummed about the fact that it's likely not going to get a sequel, considering it's the best 2D platformer I've ever played.

So who else got it?

I have it, and I've played just a little of it. I'd never played a Rayman game before that I recall, but this one looked too irresistible to pass on. I'll get around to playing the whole thing, my backlog is just too overloaded.

I have it and have played it some. I agree that it's a great game. Great visuals, great sound, great level design. Piss-poor release timing. Ubisoft, what were you thinking?

Sadly, not me. Out of curiosity, can you name a few sites, or throw a few links? I'd like to read up. Admittedly I've thought about buying it, but haven't watched enough videos or read any reviews yet.

Well here's some indication of sales:

And here's what I believe to be an accurate review:

Brother got it for Christmas so I've played it a little bit. Trying to get through the games that I got though, before I get into playing that properly. Very good so far but such a daft time to release it though. It really could've done with waiting until this year. The fact that Ubisoft also released Assassin's Creed Revelations as well really didn't help either.

Not yet but I have played the demo and thought that was great. Unfortunately I just can't justify to myself paying £40 for it.

Got it for myself for Christmas and haven't had so much fun playing a game in years. Some of the best 2D platforming since Super Mario World and a great art style just adds to the charm.

I've been playing the Rayman games since i was a youngling, i bought it right away. Best game I played in 2011 save for Rock Band 3, Honestly probably in my top ten games of all time. It really sucks that the game made so little.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Rayman Origins is amazing, and it's positively criminal that this masterpiece didn't even manage to sell as well as this years Modern Warfare expansion pack. RM:O is easily my game of the year (behind Portal 2 of coarse) and I recommend it to literally every games enthusiast on this planet be they young, old, whatever.

It's a great game and the music is good. It's a shame that my ps3 died while I was playing it en route to the fourth boss.

SIGH.

I've played the demo and I want it. I liked older Rayman games and I feel obligated to buy it after hearing about the shitty sales.

Its a 5 hour long side scrolling platformer, no challenge (its a kids game), and they expect you to pay 60 bucks for it. And it was released right before skyrim.
There is only one thing in that sentence that's correct and supports your argument.

OT: Got it for Christmas, but I'm working on my backlog right now.

Like so many in this thread, I got it for Christmas and (unfortunately) have not gotten through much of it. Massive backlog.

So even people who bought it are not playing it?

I can't blame them, as soon as I got Dark Souls, I stopped playing Trine 2. I'll got back, no worries.

I played the demo, but it's just not my kind of thing. Looked nice and well made, but platformers rarely interest me. I would have liked Tintin, but not at that price for a short, easy game.

*ramble, ramble* :(

Got it for Christmas. Pretty far into it. Loving it. It's better than Skyrim.
