Since it was his dying wish, there's nothing ethically wrong about fulfilling it. I do hope that they got the best prostitute possible, though. Kid should remember his first time as a good one.

Thats a dumb last request.

There is soo much more to life than sex.
Yup! like having a job, a wife, kids, a house, goals... oh wait.. in that case he didn't really have one did he? I doubt there's much more to life than sex for most adolescent males.
Sex and [secondary interest], that's all there is for us.

He's a boy dying of cancer, you gonna tell him to wait until he's older?

I applaud the decision that was made, course he was 15 which is JUST on the bar of "underaged but not really pedo underage" like say any age under 15.

I mean that's one year under the legal age in the UK here, so that might be how I'm thinking this.

Wasn't there a similar story like this in the UK a while ago?
There was one about a 13 year old getting a 15 year old girl pregnant if thats what you mean.
No, I just found it.

Losing your virginity is all the craze with terminally ill patients it seems.

He's got some good friends.
It was his dying wish and I would've gotten him a high class prostitute myself.

He's 15. No there isn't.
Well played, I suppose, but it's still a crying shame. If I hadn't seen the true face of life by now, I may have had tears for that boy. But life is more willing to remove its mask than it should be.
Biologically speaking, the meaning of life is to have sex and reproduce. Imagine you are a mayfly with a life span of only a few hours, all they do is have sex, babies and die.
There's the flaw in your argument. If humans were meant to only do things because of instinct and biology then rape and murder wouldn't be crimes.

I mean, if lifes about sex then it doesn't matter if you force someone to have it right? It's the meaning of life isn't it?

Obviously you were not suggesting people should rape, but my point is that humans have evolved beyond basic instincts (some of us), sex is the means to life not the meaning of it.

Whats so wrong with wanting to experience sexual intimacy before you die? We all experience it at one point in our long lives, this kids life was shortened. Makes sense to me, everyone else should mind their own business. Its not like he asked to hunt down men dressed like dear from a helicopter.
I agree, but I would respect the kid so much more if he had.
No, your argument contains the flaw. Women only carry very little genetic material; a limited amount of eggs. Men have unlimited genetic material; as many sperm cells as you could possibly need. Therefore, men are biologically more of the 'spread your chances'-strategy, while women, by nature, will be very demanding of who gets to fertilize her eggs. Therefore, rape is theft of genetic material and most certainly a crime. Also, murder means that the victim won't be able to reproduce anymore, so that's a crime too from reproductive point of view.

Trust me, I had to write a big-ass essay about this.

I studied Psychology at college.

Rape is indeed theft of genetic material, that won't matter to the male if they impregnate women who want children and those that don't to increase the chances, especially if the woman is not aware that the child is the rapists.

Murder of women yes, murder of men? No. I was using murder as an example of something that is genetically right but morally wrong, I was not talking about women, but murder as a whole.

If one male killed off all the other males in the area it leaves a whole bunch of fertile females without any competition so it makes genetic sense.

So my question to you is would you have granted his wish and what your generaly thought on this artical.
No. I wouldn't have granted his wish. I would've looked at him with a dumbfounded expression before saying, "No (Jack), I will not grant your final wish of pre-marital sex. I hope you burn in hell for all eternity for having such a filthy mind. Good day to you." *sarcasm*

...Of course I would help grant his final wish. So long as the wish doesn't hurt anyone else (physically or emotionally), I'm cool with bending the law to fulfill a dying child's final wish. You'd have to be some kind of stone-hearted monster to look into his eyes and tell him "No".

As for your other question, I love this thread; it really promotes thought and debate. This is probably the best thread I've encountered on this site, congrats.

I see no issue with this. The boy wanted to get laid, and so he did. Intercourse is an integral part of human life. Nobody wants to die a virgin.

I guess you could say he wanted to go out with a bang?

If you are dying, you can meet a celebrity sure, but what good does that do? Does it make you feel better? Does it make dying easier?

But having sex right before you die? Being able to say, I am 15 years old and I have had sex, at least I have done something cool, I think makes dying slightly easier because nothing worse dying a virgin.

There was actually a movie about this kind of situation. Some kid, dying of cancer decides to go up and announce that instead of disneyworld or whatever, his dying wish is to have sex with some supermodel. The rest of the movie is about him and his friends going to where ever said super model is, and he tries to get his wish.

Not when your going to be dead in a matter a weeks or months. Kudos to the kid for getting his last wish fulfilled.
