First off everything I'm writing up here is completely true, not making up a single word.
My Mom is a small time family lawyer and works out of her own family law offices when recently she represented the
wife of the sheriff in the town in which I live. My mom in the process of doing her job, won and got her client what
was coming to her in this divorce. The sheriff then preceded to threaten my mom with death and has been lurking around my neighborhood
in full uniform. THE FUCKING SHERIFF! What the fuck is wrong with this guy? I mean even if his anger was justified like if my mom was
like Jim Carry from Liar Liar type of lawyer wouldn't the obvious target of his rage be, I dunno his wife?!?! Not my fucking mom and not my fucking family?! I mean I have to make sure the doors are locked because THE POLICE might break in? What the hell. I don't know what to think in this situation but id like you guy's input here at the Escapist

(Im not telling you where i live or anyone's names I will tell you i live in the general vicinity of DC though)

If he's really stalking around, report him to the authorities. Just because he's the Sheriff doesn't mean he can't be arrested.

Report him to the State Authorities, and if that doesn't work, report him to the FBI. It's not that hard, just make some phone calls. If you feel that your life, and the lives of your family are in danger, don't be afraid to make the calls. Even if you feel that you might be doing something wrong, you aren't. Call the "higher-ups," and they will be happy to help you. That's what your tax dollars are for my friend!

You might want to get some photographic evidence of this happening, if he hangs around your house that could be considered threatening, especially because of the trial thing. After that its all about calling places that don't have people working under him, I really don't know law enforcement structure but I don't think the police work for the sheriff.

Record him and send the footage to whatever news show will broadcast it; the other police can't ignore it if everyone knows.

I would say get a security camera for the front of your house maybe if you have some video proof of him hanging around you could try to get a restraining order.

I agree with mokes310, find a different policing authority and get them involved. If you and your family testify that he's stalking you, and maybe get a few neighbours to also confirm that he's hanging around so much then you can either get a restraining order or get him arrested.

I hope that is a joke. Killing a LEO is only going to get you two things:
1. A beating in the jail you won't forget.
2. A quick and speedy trial.

Sadly he's right, when it comes to the law the police and politicians are above it meaning you cant use your legal rights against them, and even if they brake the law nothing happens, the legal system was created by politicians and police officials, which does explain why they are above it.

Not only that, the fact that he's the Sheriff is more of a reason to arrest him.

There are people above the sheriff as others have said. Call them(as in the FBI or state officials.)

Here in Canada I think it would work the same way too.If your city officers are doing wrong you call the provincial police(OPP) or the national police(RCMP).

Yeah. Call the State Authorities or skip the middle-man and go straight to the FBI. what he is doing is illegal and should be punished. the Federal Corruption Inquiry may help (not sure if that's what it's called)

Have your mom call the state Bar. They'll be able to put her in touch with an attorney who specializes in such cases tout suite, and they'll be able to best advise her how to proceed. Most likely the state police will the ones to bring the hammer down on the situation.

actually no an officer of the law only needs just cause to be on your lawn, warrant is only needed to search without permission

as for the topic, get evidence of him doing that, if someone refuses to help, send the pics and phone calls to every media outlet you can and then post any video on youtube and pics on something like flickr. lastly when he comes up for office again, post all those pics and videos again if nothing happens so he's not elected again
