Right now, Halloween is on my mind. I've been sitting with a pen and paper and writing down costume ideas. One that was somewhat easy and awesome came up. Russian KGB agent. Now I don't accept the Communist idea, but I have an awesome Russian accent and would be perfect. Now when my dear old father heard this, he proclaimed his eternal hatred and how I shouldn't even consider the thought, and moved on to saying how much of them we have in the U.S. Never before have I wanted to run out the door of my own home before.

Between the daily Glenn Beck, reading of the Bible, and only watching Fox News, to say the least, the atmosphere is tense. I haven't told him yet that I don't consider myself Christian because it never really stuck with me. But seeing as this topic requires discussion, when have you wanted to disassosciate yourself with someone as fast as possible?

Ha. My dad's all Fox News-watching, liberal-hating and such. I have a drastically different opinion from him on just about everything, but he's completely cool with it. He knows well enough to put superficial things like that aside. I think the only time I was in a situation like yours was when I was in 5th grade. Me and some other people were getting awards for this thingamajigger, and while we were waiting I struck up a conversation with this chick. I went to talk to some other people for a while, and then someone told me she was a lesbian wiccan. I'd never met or knew about either of those before, and I pretty much avoided her after that. Kind of embarrassed about my actions now, but I was really, really naive back then.

When they start saying something I completely disagree with and think is sick and/or wrong.

Also, I disassociated myself from a handful of internet friends once I realised they were just taking the piss and not really helping much.
It was a cowardly thing to do to the true friends but it helped out in the long run.
