So, I decided to fire up Dishonored again as it's always a good time. I want a perfect no-kill run. I just did the Boyle Estate mission, and for some reason I got flagged as killing someone without having done so. It seems like there's a bug with the non-lethal option for eliminating your target, because after I completed the requirements for a non-lethal takedown it said "Target Assassinated" anyway instead of "Target Neutralized." I am 100% certain I didn't kill anyone else, and can't think of anything else that could have happened by accident. Anyone else experience this?

Have you tried just repeating the mission, or repeating the end of the mission?

When encountering a possible problematic glitch the first thing you want to do is try and replicate it.

Okay, just figured out what was going on. I was jumping/Blinking into the room on previous attempts, and then when the cutscene triggers, they would fall out of my grasp in midair and die from the fall.

Since we are on the topic, I'd also suggest being careful with where you leave unconscious bodies. Apparently you can inadvertently get kills by hiding bodies in areas where there are rats, because the rats will start eating on the body which might cause the game to count it as a kill made by the player.

Had this happen to me in the Golden Cat mission too. Knocked a guard out, put him in a place where no one would find him and suddenly realized he stopped snoring but didn't think much about it. At the end of the mission I had one kill registered...I have no idea how he died. No rats or anything near him and it basically happened while I was standing right there. I just put him under some table to hide him.

Woke up startled, smashed his face on the underside of the table, ASSASINATION COMPLETE.

Or, did you lay him down, and then brutally beat him to death by delicately positioning a table on top of him?

Keep in mind that if you leave someone knocked out on the ground and they get eaten by some rats it counts as you killing them.

Damn! How did you...okay one more candidate for the table treatment I guess!

Yeah probably something like that. When I realized what happened I was so far into the mission I didn't want to start it again so my "no kill" run ended right there and then :D Was my first time in the game as well so I just continued and didn't care about that single kill.

"I'll take good care of her", says the creepy guy on the boat, even though at that point she's nothing more than a dead corpse.
Well to each his own I guess*Shudders*.

Hm all this reminds me that I still have an ongoing full chaos run that I never finished. It's quite fun to finally be able to put all those abilities to good use.
