I've spend the last 20 years being conditioned that no new star wars movie can be good. So I'm glad we have 3 years to wrap our heads around this concept.

Unrelated: Star Wars in Kingdom Hearts. Please. Oh god please.

Really did not expect this.

Now that George Lucas is going to be "only" a creative consultant, and therefore cannot decide everything himself, the episode 7 might even be good.

Also, going to be blast to see Red Letter Media's reaction to this.

Seeing Lucasfilm sold to Disney: Good. It's a great creator of etertainment, and seeing it bought by something with both the staying power and relative hands-offness of Disney is good.

Seeing the creation of Episode 7: Bad. Very very bad. There's a plethora of reasons, most of which don't need to be said. All I can contribute on that is: Just let the bloody thing die already.

Well, Disney did bring back the Muppets in spectacular fashion. Maybe SW will work the same.
Holy shit!! What does Patrick Stewart playing John Oliver think about this?

Well, there goes the Expanded Universe.

On one hand, Star Wars 7. On the other hand, what will it be about?

If it is the Thrawn Trilogy, all is forgiven, but since it won't be, I'm terrified.

I was already worried about Disney having too much power before that. Now I'm afraid.

Other than that, more Star Wars movies are a good thing, people need to stop treating it is as some sort of sacred canon, and admit that it is a part of pop-culture, and as such, it will have direction shifts, changes, reboots, and a long history ahead of it.

Episode 7?

.....

Well.... That's... Um....

Not sure if this is really good, or really bad. On one hand, Disney might actually make Star Wars good again. On the other, do we really need ANOTHER Star Wars movie?

I'm so conflicted. I need to ponder this.

Wait, they get LucasArts as well? Does this give more hope to the likes of Battlefront 3 or am I just an idiot?

I guess I should be surprised at this development, but I'm not.

Over at Disneyland there is a section of Tommorowland dedicated to Star Wars. A (awesome) ride, gift shop, and a stage show in which people dressed up as jedi masters and Darth Vader teach little kids how to be jedi.

I'd figure it was only a matter of time before Disney finally acquired Star Wars as it's own.

And frankly I'm okay with this. From what I've seen and heard, George Lucas has kinda screwed up the franchise with his weird edits to the original films, among other things. (I'm okay with the prequels for the most part) So perhaps by giving the series to someone else, someone could take Star Wars into a new, possibly better direction. At least that's how I see things anyway.

Well, looks like reality is tearing itself apart, I'll be surprised if this ends well.

So if Mickey had a Death Star would he use it to destroy the planet Pluto?
