Title says it all. Straight-to-DVD Disney movies have a general reputation for being either poor sequels/prequels, being unnecessary, or just outright terrible to sit through. And yet, with just how many of them that Disney has made over the years, it stands to reason that there must be some out there that people like, maybe even love.

So, I'd like to hear from you if there are any such films you enjoy. To get the ball rolling, I'll say my piece and declare that Lion King 2 was one I both enjoyed as a kid and still kinda enjoy now.

I like Alladin 2... Maybe I am biased because I had a VHS when I was a kid, but I really liked that movie.
Hated Lion King 2, but that one I watched when I was much older... Never watched any of the others.

EDIT: Also watched Pocahontas 2... Boring. Almost forgot that I ever watched it.

Aladdin 3, or Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

I don't know if they were actually responding to negative feedback from Return of Jafar's crappy animation and plot or what, but for this final chapter of a trilogy, the animation was bumped back to the quality of the original, Robin Williams (may be rest in peace) returns as funny as ever, and we have a new villain, a new character voiced by John Rhys-Davies and a new character-driven conflict which can't be resolved with the Genie's magic alone.

There are eight of the forty thieves in this song. They actually animated designs of thirty-two others who participate in an earlier song and fight sequences.

I could go on gushing, but I'll simply cite a few favourite lines and leave it at that:

(There is a tremor at Al and Jasmine's wedding) 'I thought the Earth wasn't supposed to move until the honeymoon!' -Genie

'You don't understand. You don't know what it's like to have nothing. To stare up at the palace walls and know that you deserve more! To be called street rat...' -Casim

'You're a good guy, Casim. But not TOO good.' -Iago, having finally found his soul mate

'Aladdin. I cannot condone your father's crimes. But, what you have done... well, you did it out of love. And you came back to take responsibility for your actions.' -The Sultan

One of my favorites was easily Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. I loved that movie growing up, and still watch it once in a while to this day.

The Lion King 1 1/2... It's like turning the first movie into more of a comedy and I love it for that...
An Extremely Goofy Movie... It's more than just Goof Troop in college... Plus, it had some great quotable lines of dialogue...
Cinderella III: A Twist in Time... It's the movie that almost made me like one of the step-sisters a bit...Other than that, there's Mickey's Once/Twice Upon A Christmas, Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers, Kronk's New Groove, Brother Bear 2, and the Tinkerbell movies starring Katara...

I absolutely loved Robin Hood (1973) because the art felt so personal and the plot felt so big and real to me at that age. I also enjoyed some of the Aladdin sequels @WhiteFang and @Diablo mentioned. I also owned the Goofy Movie and loved it.

Edit:
On further review it seems Robin Hood was in theaters, which I was not aware of, but it seems Mighty Ducks: First Faceoff was straight to video, and that one was cool too.

Gotta go with this one. It's a genuinely great movie, and not just great for str8-2-DVD.

The Futurama films (Bender's Big Score, The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Game, Into the Wild Green Yonder) were all direct to DVD. Three of the four won the Annie Award for Best Home Entertainment Production.

Whoops. Disney Straight-to-DVD...Honestly, I remember being fond of both the Aladdin Sequels, but I'm not entirely sure how I'd rate either today. What I remember about both would put them well below the original, but given that I still rate the original pretty highly that's not particularly damning.

Lion King 2 and 1/2, Aladdin 2 and 3,An extremely Goofy movie, Robin Hood. Really Straight to Disney movies weren't that bad compared to the rest of the animated crap that was coming out those days.

So much this! Hell, I find it superior to the first one. Just so goddamn funny.

I enjoyed both the Aladdin sequels. If I re watched them today, maybe the difference would be more obvious, I was only a newb when I watched them. Glad to see people above saying King of Thieves was genuinely good.

I enjoyed most of the Lilo and Stitch sequels - especially Stitch: Experiment 626. EDIT: I meant 'Stitch: The Movie'. It's been too long since I last watched any of them. None of them are nearly as deep as the original, obviously, but each delivers over an hour of light-hearted, fast-paced and chiefly character-driven comedy.

Gotta agree with this. I feel like Lilo and Stitch is way too good to be as overlooked as it is, especially its additional movies and TV series. Stitch has a Glitch may not have been as deep and touching as the original, but it was still really sweet and was a logical extension of the story.

I also have a special place in my heart for The Lion King 1 1/2 and 2, as well as Aladdin and the King of Thieves. I don't recall ever seeing the third Aladdin, though. And I recall liking the sequel to Beauty and the Beast, and thinking it neat that it was sort of an "in-progress" sequel, taking place during the timeframe of the original.

They definitely aren't as good as the originals, and I think the noticeable drop in production quality for many of them was a very unforgivable sin for Disney. With Disney, the least people could expect was a visually stunning film, even if they didn't enjoy the story or songs. But with the direct to DVD sequels, it was just too obviously a grab for money for people to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks to Soren and Queen Michael, it's nice to see I'm not alone in my appreciation for King of Thieves. In return, here is the other good scene I found while looking for the previous song:

A few things for context purposes for those who haven't seen the whole movie:
1) This is the censored version of this scene. In the original, Al gets a visible cut on his arm after 0:26 that even appears in the next song after, hence why Casim, Iago and Abu react with such shock when it happens. You know, for kids!
2) This is not a true 'Disney death' for Sa'Luk. It would be rather lame if it was. He survives falling into the sea, kills a shark while in there, and heads off to Agrabah to plot revenge. His true death is far worse.

Yet another instance of how it's great to be the father of a little girl: I have an excuse to watch the Tinkerbell movies.

One of them The Great Fairy Rescue was a bit meh, but the others are pretty solid. Although as an adult you can watch and say "Ok, that scene would have been different/better if this was directed at a more mature audience" fairly frequently.

And the whole series is worth it just to hear
TOM HIDDLESTON singing a PIRATE FAIRY song!!

I did not go into "Cinderella III" with any hopes.

I was really surprised. It looks cool, it characterizes Anastasia very well, and Cinderella actually has to do something to earn her happy ending for once.

The little mermaid 3. The second one was pretty bad, but the third one had some actual charm to it. I mean, it can't live up to the original (but how do you compete with Hans Christian Anderson anyway?) but it has enough of the charm of the original that it works reasonably well.

I'd have to go with a lot of people here and say the Lion King 2, the Aladdin sequels and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time (especially since Cinderella goes a bit badass in the end, whether her being voiced by Jennifer Hale has anything to do with that I don't know). I also wasn't that down on Bambi 2 or Mulan 2 either.

I'd add Robin Hood to this, but it DID have a run in theatres, so it's disqualified from this list.

The Rescuers Down Under and Lilo and Stitch 2 were pretty good - I think they were both supposed to have theatrical releases but were moved straight to DVD to save money.
