Has anyone played the dissidia 012 prologue thing yet or knows when it comes out on the uk or europe psn? It just seems strange that we haven't got it yet after being released in Japan a few weeks back if i'm remembering it right.

I know it's a japan created series but if its only going to be released in japan then I will los all respect for square enix, especially if the use of Aerith is a bonus you get for buying it, if they don't sell either the demo or offer aerith with the dlc for the game then I will be extremely pissed as what do they gain from it other than some cruel laughs at the expence of the non-japanese market by teasing them?

O.T. To anyone who has played it is it any good and how is the new combat system?

I can't find anything on prologue, the full game should be out in America on the 22 march, so...indication of a release somewhere?

Haven't seen anything official about it yet, but you do realise it's not that hard at all to get the Japanese version from the PSN, right?

Basically, you just make yourself a new Japanese PSN account. The PSN never really checks adresses and whatnot so you can have yourself an account for all three regions. You shouldn't find it too difficult to make an account (google it if you need examples for valid adresses). The only annoying part is that european/american credit cards aren't valid to purchase stuff off the Japanese store. You can however, buy credit vouchers from sites such as

http://www.play-asia.com/PlayStatio...e_network_on/paOS-13-71-zu-49-en-70-3xk5.html

to put credits on your Japanese account. Hope that helps.

Edit: Oh, you might wanna practice browsing the PSN from your own region before doing this. Lord knows I got completely confused.

It will probably be released some time near the end of this month I gather. Since Duodecim will be released in Japan first, the jap demo will be released first about a month prior, so I expect NE and EU to get it a month prior to their release dates. The demo IS coming to NA and EU though, as there are trade marks for it in each region. And on Sony representative in EU mentioned that the demo will hit NA and EU on the same day. So just give it some time and be patient.

As for how the game is shaping up...everything I have heard points to FUCKING AWESOME. They've really outdone themselves and it aint just Dissidia 1.5. The pacing of combat is faster, the assist system is deep and offers a verity of combo, offensive, and defensive options. Chase sequences have been sped up, and several balance tweaks have been made to the initial mechanics like nerfing wall rush and critical damage.

Every character has received new moves, and also undergone tweaks to their existing move sets to further balance the game.

Here is just a list of gameplay tweaks pertaining to characters that are found from playing the demo: http://dissidiaforums.com/showthread.php?7198-DFF-gt-DDFF-Prologus-Changelist

And a nice mechanics digest: http://dissidiaforums.com/showthread.php?6705-Official-Dissidia-012-duodecim-Final-Fantasy-Mechanics-Digest

So the devs have really been working hard to improve upon the original game in every way and it shows. This is going to be one of the best game sequels this year hands down and I look forward to getting my hands on the english demo.

Just take note that if you go ahead and try to Jap demo, the Aerith info is incompatible with the english versions of the game. So you might as well wait for the NA/EU version so that info is actually useful.

Thank you, I was fearing it would be Japan only, definately will be getting it though as soon as it comes out loved the first one despite some initial skepticism that it would basically be street fighter meets final fantasy, love the characters, the story and the gameplay was excellent. Hopefully they'll let us carry items from the first game over so we don't have to go through getting them all again though.
EDIT: Ok the data transfer is cool and very useful

If you still have your Dissidia save file, you can transfer information from that file over to Duodecim, same goes for the Prologus demo.

Your Dissidia file will allow you to transfer character levels and AP (so your skills will already be mastered) over to Duodecim. Items and gear will not transfer because they had to overhaul it and tweak it because of the assist system. So you'll still need to item farm, but all that hard work leveling characters and mastering skills will pay off. You don't have to transfer it, but it sure as hell reduces to work load.

Because of this I am guessing that in story mode, the enemies levels will scale unlike in the first game were they stayed the same and you could just stomp them if you grinded inf free battle enough.

What items and junk you earn in the demo will also transfer into the initial game as well. And you will have the code to unlock Aerith; she is already on the disk, so what you get with the demo is sort of like a key. She's a special assist character so shes not fully playable, just an assist character.

What's cool as well if that Duodecim will be cheaper than the first game. Dissidia was $40, Duodecim will be $30 at launch. Their additional money will come from DLC music and costumes if they are reasonably priced.
