A few years back, a guy was practically tortured by a small group of people for... well, I don't remember what it was, exactly, all I know was that it was really bad. The worst part of it was the fact that the ringleader of the group was a girl I personally had known from grade school, and had been friends with. And so another bit of my childhood innocence got flushed down the toilet...

Try topping that.

Well I don't live in Adelaide...

It's all just kids stuff in my area now, drug deals, brawls, beatings, old ladies getting stabbed for trying to break up fights. There used to be a pretty violent bunch here in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne but they are all dead or in Jail now. The violence has moved slightly North now.

There's this high school that's too close for comfort. It's not right next to my home or anything, no, I'm just not comfortable even looking at it anymore. A year or two ago, they had some kind of dance. Not one teacher questioned or went looking when almost all of the students suddenly disappeared.

Oh, don't worry, no one was kidnapped, no one went missing, no mass suicides, and there were no deaths.

No, this was far more depraved and awful. About 7-10 of the students were raping one of their classmates. And everyone else was watching. It went on for hours. And not one person called the police in that time. The ones who were raping her? They're in jail. The ones who just watched and didn't do a thing about it? Not a damn thing happened to them.

When I was in 3rd or 4th grade, some dude killed his wife, and his kids, before killing himself one day. No fucking idea why. I only remember because grief councilors were sent to almost every class in the school to talk to the kids.

About a month ago, some very nice guy in my town was curb-stomped. He was coming out of the bar and two "badasses" thought it was funny to beat up some guy, a guy that though I do not know, I have heard is so kind, he wouldn't hurt a fly.

Shortly thereafter the beating, they went to the gas station about three blocks away and began laughing and bragging about it. What is sad is two girls my sister graduated with are dating them, and sadly, these girls must be all kinds of gullible, because they believe these boyfriends weren't in the wrong based on their "testimony" (What that testimony is, I do not know, but I can bet "not guilty" and "I didn't do it" was part of it).

They aren't in jail yet, but they are now hated, the girls they are dating are now hated (for dating and defending them) and the kid, happily, is still alive. He won't live normally ever again (It was touch and go for awhile, he was in a chemically induced coma to reduce damage, now it's a wired jaw situation, but he's alive).

It's difficult to believe that something like this could ever happen in a small town of maybe 1500 people, but at least there is something of a happy ending in it.

I live in NYC and about a week ago a guy fell onto the tracks of my local subway station and was hit by a train and killed :/ thats depressing even if he was probably a hipster. I hate those people but I don't want them getting hit by trains.

Somehow I am more worried. Just kidding. On topic my next door neighbor blew up abortion clinics and then robbed banks when the cops where distracted. On that note the FBI are not half as sneaky as you might think. "You don't notice me or you are going to jail." "Your right I don't notice you."

Well, let's see: A girl was raped in a nightclub not too far away a few years back, and a girl from my high school was beat up in a break-in. I remember 'cause police sketches of the guy were all over the school that year.

Oh, and this isn't nearly as bad, but it was a bit more personal: The lead teacher of the local driving school (who pretty much everyone at my school knew and remembered) got a DUI and shot himself. He basically never stopped preached against drunk driving.

The most dramatic things in my town were the suicide of one of my classmates and a case of animal abuse. Bastards beat a dog with a shovel, then dragged it down the road behind a car

The flat opposite my old falt was raided by the police for drugs a while back. The guy who lived there were stupid. I'd watch them out the window, hiding little packets of heroine and base inside coke cans, under bushes, in gaps in the wall, etc. The idea being that people wouldn't come to the door to pick up. Of course what this meant was that there were always junkies rummaging in the litter out side his flat day in day out looking for a stash. I decided to take it upon myself to mess with them by going out and hiding packets of baking powder where they went to look. lol.

This was kinda horrific, it's weird because it's usually such a quiet town.

When I was in Year 7 I knew a lot of the Year 12 kid's, my friend's older brothers etc. One of them was an awesome guy but was an only child. Two years later I am in a different town and I discover that he had a mental breakdown and murdered his GF's parents.
And then earlier this year a boy died because he was skitching a car on his skateboard, fell and cracked his skull on the gutter

Not much, really, I live in a fairly small and quiet place at the bottom of England.

When I was 8 or so, I was on a train returning from a Birmingham conference with my father, when this gang of drunks boarded and started randomly talking to him. They were being quite intrusive, constantly hovering over him as he was reading his book and trying to steal it. When my dad didn?t let him, they just started beating the shit out of him, injuring his eye. My dad?s colleague tried to help him, but he got beaten up as well. I was just standing there, crying as a woman hugged me.

Also, a classmate of me who sat next to and talked to me in Science died October 2010, either of a sudden unexplained death or a drugs overdose. It was really weird when I found out the next day at school, and people, the teachers, were just depressed and crying.

A couple of years ago, this girl at my school accused this boy of raping her at this party, but he didn?t go to prison or anything. They were both drunk anyway.

I think there was a teacher at this other school in my city who was sacked and arrested for having pornographic pictures of some kids at the school on his computer and/or was actually molesting the kids in question.

I heard a rumour of this girl that was raped in the toilets of this local park that my friends and I regularly went to.
