"they should have just made a gun mod for Oblivion instead of wasting money making Fallout 3"

Honest to God I've heard that...
Funny thing, Fallout 3 was announced before Oblivion was, as I recall.

I only really get bothered by DLC when you buy the game new, within the first three weeks, and within minutes of plugging the game in, you get some sort of "DLC available" message. For example DragonAge Origins, fantastic game, but the Warden's Keep thing is already plugged right into the game at your camp, if they already did that much work, why not just give it for free.

You pay a lot of money for a game, you could, occasionally include the odd freebie. Now, DA:O did exactly that if you bought the game at various places, and that, I liked. So, I will likely buy the Warden's Keep thing just because I appreciated the approach.

You know I think it's funny how people say Left 4 Dead 2 should have been an expansion. I mean, the melee weapons, the new weapons, the new maps, the new modes, the new characters... it's do much for just a DLC. I mean, it controls the same and has the same sort of feel to it but what were you expecting? Seriously, it's way too much for DLC.

I don't see a lot of difference between DLC and expansion packs, really. I just wish people showed enough sense to respond to individual cars in a racing game with "Go get a better business model"

I hate all this DLC moaning remember how games used to be developed? They would be rushed the last few weeks to release need to cut corners and content and we got an incomplete experiance thta dlc can correct. I dont mind paying either assuming the content/company are worth my money I view it as an investment aswell as a purchase.

Of course some will absued it i.e. EA essentialy selling you the last half of the Godfather II but most is just used for padding cut content or adding new stuff.

Well many people including me agree that all GH/RB games after 1 and WT should have been DLC, come on you know it's fucking true.
I think they should be MADE available as DLC, but personally I really like the discs. I can pick up 40 some new songs for 20 bucks, even if some of them aren't too great, and I don't have to use up the rest of the space on my poor 20GB hard drive. Those games eat up enough of my cash without having to spring for an oversize xbox HDD.

The reason for the people being upset with Left 4 Dead 2 was not because the game wasn't up to par, it was because Valve promised to support the game like TF2. Instead they put out a sequel which annoyed me personally because if I bought it on that promise, here TF2 still gets support and L4D is pretty ignored.

Not a big deal though, I got my fun out of L4D, but I've no plans on getting the sequel.
Personally I don't think that any amount of DLC will save either game because they just didn't last that long to begin with. I think that if Valve wants to save this series than they need to do the following things.

1) Start producing more regular updates for L4D1 (just to appease the boycotters)

2) Start producing more regular updates for L4D2 (to appease the people who bought L4D2

3) Support both games for maybe ... a couple of years

4) After about 3 or 4 years start considering a L4D3 with more replayability. Here's some ideas: Campaign bosses that can be controlled by the high scoring infected player on versus mode and ai controlled on campaign mode, an update to the ai director that makes changes in the level layout more noticeable, at least 8 - 10 campaigns, more creative weapons (perhaps some more improv weapons), more special infected, more weapon upgrades and the ability to make improvised weapons using parts you find lying around (these parts should be more common during versus gameplay for obvious reasons)

5) If Valve goes ahead with this unveil L4D3 with the release date saying "maybe *insert release date here*"
