Portal.
Mario Paint.
Song games...
What?? Portal?? You kill those poor turrets turrets and GlaDos and if that wasn't enough, you incinerate the Companion Cube!!

OT: I'm playing through World of Goo and Machinarium, and they seem pretty pacifist.

But isn't the idea of a competition like pong, where you're grinding your opponent into ping pong related dust and Tetris, which awards you for making blocks simply disappear still a form of violence?
No, no it isn't. You're just over thinking things.

If you imagine god of war series as watermelon slicing contest, it gets very non-violent very fast.

on the serious note, I'd say Tetris or many puzzle oriented games, but not mainstream games.
maybe there are, but I really can't name any at the moment....

even simple games that are meant to be marketed to children like pacman or bubble bobble have some elements about them that if you look too much into it, it would be very very violent.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Hotel Dusk: Room 215

You don't commit any acts of violence in Portal, unless you count vandalism. But the people who censored ET might consider the presence of guns and the fact that they shoot at you might class it as violent.

There are quite a bit of games that aren't violent, must of them happen to be educational games though.

Rollercoaster Tycoon.

It only has violence if you REALLY try.
And even without the violence it is brilliant. This and Zoo Tycoon...though I think there is possible violence if like one of your fiercer animals gets let out accidentally (or not if the case may be).

Also I agree with Audiosurf. Even more so if you play Ninja Mono.

Tetris. Very simple game, nothing gets killed. Also, Pong.

Damn, ninja'd.
What about the blocks that disappear?

OT: Well, uh, Bejeweled?
What about the gems that disappear?

Rhythm games are non-violent.
What about the notes that disappear?
They go to a better place. Unless you miss them. Then they go to hell.

Are you sure? In Guitar Hero you even burn the poor things!

OP said he was talking about violence in a broad sense, not an extreme sense (IE blocks disappearing will not count as violence in this thread, sorry guys)

Then maybe it's the ones that you burn that go to hell and the ones you miss escape the wrath of the player.
