Voicechat? Yes, there is. You click "Start voice chat" on the IM menu.Gladion said:Seeing the wars going on and so many bitter people on the internet, it seems no gamers have any fun at all.

^^ Your answer.
>gotcha, hehe.
Steam would be a great product if it wasn't responsible for me not being able to play Half-Life 2 or its add-ons any more. It generally fucks with games a lot.
"The Game you are playing has not been registered on your account. Please verify your CD Key and restart" after having registered Left 4 Dead 8 months earlier. WTF?
i used to like consoles alot but i'd go with thisdududf said:+ Better Communitys (setting them up)
+ Mouse and FUCKING KEYBOARD! Oh yeah!
+ Modifications.
+ Customization.
+ We use an actual OS, so if we want we can alt tab outta the game, and go to a walkthrough if desperate.
+ Console(no not the gaming console, it's a command window CALLED Console). Who doesn't wanna spawn what ever the hell they want [sub]Crazy people that's who[/sun]
+ Dedicated Servers, and Dedicated Server browser. If I want 6 ping and map X with 63/64 people I'll get that 6 ping with Map X with 63/64
+ More people per map. Which then = Bigger maps.
+ More graphical and processing power then the current consoles. That's right, the consoles TECH WISE are out dated.
+ Devs can add features that just can't be done on consoles due to hardware restraints. Example in Red Faction Guerrilla they improved the destruction and physics for the computer.
- Hard for people who can't work a computer (i.e. Idiots)
- Generally speaking, unless you're in the know you won't be able to upgrade or maintain the computer. But due to it being PC and having the INTERNET available it's a mere google search away.
- Devs focus on console gamers.
Hell, from my Point of view, with exception to Devs not caring about the PC guys (due to us being a minority now) I don't see why console Gamers ARE console gamers. Unless you seriously can't work a freaken server browser window, or you just can't work a computer (from which is a freaken GOOGLE SEARCH AWAY) I just don't see it.
Ahh well to be fair all of my Console experience is from my PS2 and reading online.
With the Xbox, for example, there is a feeling of community
Wut? That's every game in Xbox Live. Dedicated servers are persistent communities, each with their own regulars that over time you get to know and enjoy hanging out with. With xbox live, unless you're playing with friends, then every game will be a bunch of random dickheads.I rolled up with some people I didn't know in a random lobby.
http://www.steampowered.comThere isn't the friendly dashboard with a nice interface showing my friends, what they're playing, my games, my achievements, etc. It's nice; it's clean.
I spent a couple hours the other night installing MGS4, downloading updates for it, and helping a friend of mine configure ports to make his copy work. Consoles are quickly getting laden down with the same shit PC gamers have been dealing with for years. There is a lot of work - the initial setup, keeping it updated, drivers, installing,
This x 9001. My first question to anyone with a computer problem is "What did you break?"most PC problems are caused by incompetent users.
Frivolometer?! What has science done?More Fun To Compute said:I have measured global fun levels with my frivolometer and can confirm that PC gamers have on average 10 funvins per hour more fun than the average console gamer.
Nope. It's not a gaming PC. Just a home PC. It's not absolutely abysmal, but it's not going to run Oblivion above minimum. And the only thing I run in the background is, well, Firefox with one/two tabs open.Adrimor said:I've never heard of that site, but the official sites usually give a much better picture of the recommended specs.Onyx Oblivion said:I checked. *points and laughs at you for failing to check your machine against the requirements*and that with a PC, you better be damn sure your PC can run it, or else you are in for a laggy, unplayable mess.
*feels ripped off after getting "The Bard's Tale" off of Steam, only to find that its slow as fuck even on low*
*feels bad shortly thereafter*
Is your PC suitably tweaked for gaming, e.g. unneeded services disabled, lightest and fewest possible background programs running, etc.?
That last sentence says it all... Besides getting a good understanding of a device you will use every day for the rest of your life, building a computer, or at least researching what someone else needs to build for you, helps you get a better understanding of new technologies and you can build exactly what you need for exactly what you can afford.Gilbert Munch said:So, doblondesconsole gamers have more fun? I'm just going to put a console gamer's perspective on this, with the intention of PC gamers putting their points across and other console gamers agreeing with me. Obviously.
Too. Much. Effort.
...say, £1000 pounds and hours building a good PC for something that a console can do adequately...
YES DIGITAL TRINKETS! pc games have achievements too...Randoms said:except if your using a ps3. also one word which makes consoles better than pc: Achievments/trophies depending on which console your usingSUPA FRANKY said:You guys can surf the web, so we kinda lose there.
