Do drugs make anyone else sick?

Do any of you get sickened by drugs? I'm not talking about hating drugs, but getting physically repulsed by them. Even if someone is just smoking a cigarette in my vicinity, my stomach starts twisting and I get dizzy. Maybe it's my D.A.R.E. influenced mind or my suburban life, I can't be anywhere near drugs or alcohol. Even thinking about them makes me a bit nauseous. It's probably for the best, but it gets annoying when I have to hang out with my smoking relatives.

Does anyone else have this problem?

The smell of a cigarette makes me ill and lightheaded. The area around my old school was blighted with this smell. It was... not fun.

Cigarettes smell awful, as does pot

I don't have much experience other than that (in smelling, personally I don't do drugs) but the idea of shooting up kind of grosses me out.

Unless you're around it all the time (and sometimes even when you are) it's perfectly natural to have an aversion to it, as it's generally an unhealthy habit.

Cigarettes used to make me queasy, but I'm simply repulsed by the smell these days, rather than disgusted by them. Assuming you're not an adult (and I'm sorry if I make an ass of U and ME), it might be one of those things you either grow up to not have a problem with or just accept slightly more.

I think there is probable something wrong with you. Some undiscovered phobia, perhaps.

I can understand the cigarette thing, but just the thought of things you likely have no experience with? There's something not right about that.

Alcohol makes me kinda sick to smell, but not realy. Mostly it just gives me a head ache, and only if I take a really big sniff.

Cigarette smoke makes me a bit light headed too, but thats cuase I've been around it fora long time, and usually only if I'm in a car (I get sick if I focus on anything and the sensation that i'm being driven. I think its abit of motion sickness).

That may be very likely actually. Like I said, my school used to have D.A.R.E. classes where we learn about the eeeeviiiils of drugs. D.A.R.E. is a company that gives drug education and they pretty much tried to scare my class into hating drugs. Maybe I have some deep rooted phobia D:

Growing up around smokers means i literally cannot smell it for crap, now. So it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
Alcohol is similar, considering i love the crap out of Vodka and drink it whenever i can, i'm not affected by it at all.
Weed is fine by me, and generally accepted here in Aus. For possession 90% of the time you get a smack on the back of the head and the officer confiscates it, without ever using the radio and tucking it into his pocket.

It's the harder drugs that mess you up hard that i refuse to go near, and some of them make me sick to think about. Not the drugs themselves, but mostly the fact that the tablet you're about to take was probably made by some naked fat guy in his bathroom at the same time he's taking a crap.
No. Thanks.

Or it could be that briunj04 is overly empathetic. A lot of drugs are either destructive or addictive (normally both). Just the idea of someone doing that to themselves makes me feel ill and sad, and I doubt I'm the only one who feels this way. And then there is smoking and drinking, and the smell they have is disgusting and cringe-worthy. So between the stupidity, the smell, the empathy/sympathy some of us feel (like when you see someone in pain, you aren't in pain, but it can affect you emotionally), and the addictive nature of the drugs, there are plently of reasons to feel what the OP feels.

OT: Yes. I grew up in Australia, so the idea of other people drinking doesn't make me feel ill, but it does make me uncomfortable when people I care about get drunk. Most other drugs (except medicine for medicine's sake) make me feel disgusted, ill, sad, and generally just really shitty when I think about people using them. So no, you aren't the only one who feels that way.

Mmm well with the number of things i did and that i don't do anymore, it was a worth while experience. Ive done things and seen things (not on LSD or shrooms, that's just a trip) that I would have otherwise never done. As in nights out in the park with friends, or chilling downtown, going to clubs/bars or just sitting in my friends kitchens and talking about everything and nothing. If you don't feel like doing it, don't. However try to be lenient towards people who do use the substances that you hate so much. Ill always reminisce about the good days past by and I don't regret any of them. You just need to know when your adulthood stops and your manhood begins.

I don't especially care for the smell of cigarettes, but it doesn't bother me significantly more than any other kind of smoke; smoke from a wood fire smells just as bad when it's on your clothes the next morning. However, certain cigars -- particularly Black and Milds -- smell pretty nice. I don't smoke myself, but it's kind of nice to smell one in the distance. As for alcohol, well, I had a few drinks earlier this evening; good liquor, beer, and wine smell good, just like good coffee does. Now if you're smelling pure alcohol, then yeah, it doesn't smell particularly good -- but if you're doing that, you may as well be huffing rubbing alcohol. It's not a very bright thing to do.

I have nothing against drugs whatsoever. Of any kind. You want to shoot up krokodil in your eyeball and have your face melt, be my guest. World is overpopulated as it is. Weed? Safe and non-addictive, makes for an interesting experience. Drink 'till your liver drops? Why not?

If you are dumb enough to do the dangerous stuff, then no big loss. If you have a measure of self-control and an ounce of reason, then you won't get hurt by the stuff you do. Natural selection really.

My parents smoked all through my childhood, and it never bothered me, but in the three years I've been gone, apparently I've gained an intolerance. I find when I visit them now, I come away with headaches and nausea.

Nope. I have tried several drugs, legal and illegal, and have yet to be physically ill from them. I do have a friend who is allergic to marijuana smoke though. Ironically, he was a weed dealer for a long time.

I quite like the smell of cigarettes sometimes. Given, it's only certain flavours of cigarettes, but I find they have a good aroma. Pot, on the other hand, smells like gaseous rot and I think it smells disgusting. Of course, I know people that think that cigarettes smell terrible and pot smells amazing, but I digress.

I'm totally alright with pills, but IV drugs and other things (can only think of snorting cocaine,) do kinda creep me out. A lot.

The smell of cigarettes makes me dizzy and nauseous. Does *anyone* actually like the smell of (especially stale) cigarette smoke?
