Less so than we used to I think. Obama has settled us a bit. You're still not our favourite friend though. At least that's the uk opinion.

I won't lie; I used to hate Americans from the inner core of my heart.

But of old I have accepted their (yours) ways of doing things.

And America is often focused a lot by Media.
And when you are focused by the Media, there's little room for fuck-ups. Or else you'll be the laughing/hated stock.

Whenever someone asks me this I like to quote Lewis Black:

"We are the only country, that tells the rest of the world on a regular basis, that we are the best country on Earth. And that, is a little fuckin' obnoxious."

"And I know it's obnoxious because if you worked at an office, and some guy came in every day and yelled "I'm the best fucking guy here! And all you shits would die without me!" you would have killed the guy."

Wish people would just stop taking stereotypes based on small quanities of ignorant people as fact.
I know and appoligize. that's why I changed the topic to my original idee which will hopefully create a more intelectual discussion. (and before someone else tells me. I know i'm a spineless worm)

theyre fat ugly and stupid, for the most part anyway. here are some living americans I approve of:
Obama
Clinton
Chris Slate
Frank West
Frank west, ether your not serious or your an idiot. And if your an idiot then which Clinton do you mean?

And I think that every country has people how hate another country in particular or in general. Not all middle eastern peoples hate westerners. Not all American Southerners hate blacks. Say everyone in a racial, ethical, or national group are all one way. Not even North Korea (where do you think all there slave labor camps get people to work there).

I used to hate Americans.

When i was about 14-17 and still a stupid piss ant teenager who listened to stupid piss ant people talk.

Now a days i don't feel the hate between nationalities when you talk to regular people. It was actually quite nice to see the anti-American kid in my English class get chewed up by the classroom for being ignorant and prejudice.

I met a number of Americans when i used to play WoW. Yeah there's the loud mouths on trade chat saying fuck the *insert nationality here* but on average most people don't care where your from as long as you spoke English.

The world of news media is not very descriptive in how the people think, its just politics.

Nationality means nothing to me. Am i proud of my nation? Sure i am. Will i hold it against you for not being one? Only if your a prick about it.

I'm Canadian... Sorry if i screw up your gathering of info, but i think the point is pretty universal.

everyone knows the stereotypes, but are they right?
So: Do europeans dislike americans? and if so why?

I personnaly don't dislike americans in general, although I do think that some things are a bit wack. like over-censoring sexual topics, violence and profanity while America is the largest producer of porn and violent movies/games. I also question the peace-bringer attitude, since america has started quite a few wars over the past few decades.

I like American's

America: Thank you for some quality TV.

I know quite a few Europeans dislike me, but to be fair, I was in uniform in their airports. They still didn't have to spit at me.

From what I'm heard, Europeans hate our leadership (Or at least our old leadership. Don't know nor care what they think of Obama), not the American people.

Many americans and many American related things i do dislike but the actual average american s are alright, it's just a few that give them their bad name and their government over the last few years. However this still dosen't stp me making jokes about them and for any americans on the escapists i do humbly apologise(it's all in good fun).

I have a strong dislike for them, but then so does a large majority of the world, it was a darn shame though to see france knocked off the top spot of most disliked country...

I only dislike a certain type of American, but then I hate the Europeans who act the same way.

So really I only hate people who are to busy reveling in their own "genius opinions" with their heads lodged so far up their own sphincter than to keep an open mind.

That and "Your wrong because it's not how I think people".

Don't hate Americans at all. I have plenty of them as friends and relations over there too.

If I had a gripe with them? It's simply that their sense of patriotism can feel gaudily over the top, particularly when it's pushed in your face about how America is so great and the America is the world. Kind of insulting really but I just figure it's a different culture trying to make up for being so young in perspective to the rest of the world.
