I've been here for a year, but go through avatar changes fairly regularly, so if anyone recognizes me, it's usually due to the username and lack of post content.

Awww, I thought you meant in real life, in which case, I could have happily said "no", and faded back into the shadows >.>
Although, this seems kinda like the Forum Game "How well do you know the above poster".
Oh, and I've seen Squidden's avatar before, that is about it.
Well, the forum game was the inspiration for this thread. I just wanted to try a different twist on it.
S'not a twist, it's just the exact same thing but where you want to be the one everyone remembers. Might as well have called the title "LOOK AT ME, have you looked at me yet? Good, now the rest of you play the How Well Do You Know The Above Poster game"
To be frank, I only intended for the next poster to be referring to me. The rest were only going to be commenting on the user above.

I still hold that telling people how often you see them is different from telling them how much you know about them. For instance, I saw Hubilub around a lot, but I didn't know anything about him.

And please try to keep a pleasant tone. I like the vibe this thread has going, and I wouldn't want it to be ruined as per Lord Cuthberton's predictions.
Tone's a tricky thing to convey, so I'll tell you right now I'm not happy about these kind of threads, but I wish you the best of luck in managing it

Far be it from me to question Cuth's knowledge. Guy's been around.

Still a blueblood Tory towel, though :p
Well, the tories can be decent people once in a while. Jeremy Clarkson for example. Sure, he's a conservative, but he's a funny man :p

Myself, I like these kinds of threads. Look at the first five or six pages: We were having a real nice time with the hugs and all. This isn't the place to discuss whether we like these kinds of threads though.
and how

I still think you've basically just repeated the Forum Game everyone's already pointed out to you, but there we go. This seems to be popular, so C'est La Vie, I guess.

And yes, Tories are fine people so long as you keep them away from anything resembling actual responsibility ;)

I feel like I want people to know me a little. Because I don't have an avatar, I imagine that I'll be known as "that guy without the avatar", or somesuch. This is why I try to make sure that most of my posts are at least coherent if not informed.

I've seen GrinningManiac around, not lately, but I recognize the name and Avatar.

I do not know you Eumersian, and I think that's because there is a fair few people without Avatars. D:
If someone recognises me i'll be so happy :D
[sub] I know they wont though..[/sub]

I've been here for quite a while now, but unlike a lot of people, I don't have a massive post count, so I doubt it, although I think my avatar catches a few peoples eyes.
I recognise you... and Greyfox, and Marter, latenightapplepie, and waayyy more in this thread.

I think now that I've hit 4,000 posts people are beginning to recognise me. Yayz.

Er, people won't notice you if you don't quote them. People don't tend to look back through threads they've already posted on.

Aaaanndd there's thousands of users without avatars... I wouldn't go for that look. :/

Well, I just went through this thread looking for my name, it wasn't there, so I assume no.

Edit: I recognize you as well, Imperator_DK. You're one of the few I recognize the name of.
Recognized your name as well, a fellow Scandinavian from my shady friendly animé dealings. Seems not all notority familiarity has been lost with my avatar.

There's a lot of Escapists I recognise, some more than others...most I will recognise them by avatar but sadly don't always remember their names :C
I recognised you. I think we've had good conversations and arguments a few times.

Never heard of you...

I remember anyone with a gimmick (like Jack and Calumon) and anyone who I have a long argument with.

From the first page I don't recognize anyone. Internet Kraken, however, will forever be burned into my memory.

Edit: from looking at this page I see two usernames that are familiar: Naheal and Imerator_DK (I hope I spelled those correctly).

IRL I have a way of knowing only 25% of the people that know me and my skill to remember names of persons, streets, products or the like is close to 5%.
I'm still not sure if thats good or bad, but it confirms what happens here from my perspective. I "know" roughly 1 in 4 in this thread by avatar, maybe 1 in 20 by name if I'm lucky.
I doubt anyone would actually know me tho. I'm quite selective on which threads to reply, yet on the other hand I do post with my own face as an avatar which usually sticks out in a jungle of social masquerade.

I feel like I've seen your avatar before, but wouldn't remember any posts you've made, sorry.

Of course, that's more than what I expect people remember of me.

Ah, you used to have a Higurashi avatar, did you not? For some reason, I think there is another person who uses that avatar as well. Or am I imagining things?

Edit: As for MelasZepheos, your avatar looks slightly familiar, but I don't think I know you; sorry.

So, yeah, the only people who recognize me are those who I have personally chatted with, most of whom have left the site.
I always recognise you. That avatar is very conspicuous we have good exchanges.

I recognise people mostly from their avatar, so I've kept mine the same.

I guess a few must recognise me, at least.

Tell me people of the Escapist, do you know me?

It's been over a year, I really, really hope someone knows me...
I recognise your avatar (Squall?) and I've read some of your posts so yep. Obviously recognise Woodsey above me too... Mainly because of the Mafia II logo.

Yesh I definitely recognize Woodsey, from his avatar mostly, so his plan worked. xD

I recognize a lot of people on here. Though I doubt most would recognize me, for I only post when I really feel like it.

dang ninja'd from posting for Woodsey, though I don't think I recognize the person above me now.
