Do graphics decide what games YOU buy?

If it's a modern game with poor quality graphics, I think to myself "right, if they were lazy with the models and textures, what else were they lazy with?"

I've bought visually stunning games, GTA IV anyone? And they turned out like crap.
GTAIV was one of the few games I didn't beat just because I couldn't get into it cause the gameplay was fail.

So, I will not buy a game just based on graphics.
I'll buy L4D2 and it's obiouvsly lacking in the graphics department, but it will be fun because zombies are always fun. (And I enjoyed the first)

A game can look like Total Annihilation in 1600x1200 resolution with 16xAA and I'll still play it, just as long as it's... y'know... A GOOD GAME.

I have been fooled into buying really bad games because they looked so good and were well packaged... thats why I always judge a game by its content... You would think that has some moral effect on the type of women that I like but nope, turns out being attractive IS important... I mean I would hate for the female to be unintelligent and humourless but you have to catch someones interest first.

Yes. I love games with realistic graphics. That's almost the same question as "Does it matter what a girl looks like?" Most people, out of being modest, will answer no when really it does matter. Same with graphics. I tend to prefer to shoot real targets rather than blocks :] but maybe that's just me?

I make a distinction between graphics and artwork. The latter makes more difference in whether I'll buy a game (though I'm not that picky). I've only ever given up on one game because of terrible graphics, Summoner (and the graphics were in addition to the odd combo system and game-freezing bugs).

They only matter to a point. The fact that a game is fun and the controls work properly are more important though

Nope, I am currently playing Diablo 2 with Eastern Sun 3 so I don't care about the graphics.

i think that graphics are just a bonus to a good game. Im not just asying this because i only have last gen systems and a wii. But still, you dont have to have good grapics to have fun shooting aliens.

As long as I can run the game at a good frame rate at a decent resolution and low-medium graphics I'm cool with buying the games.
Besides graphics alone doesn't make a game good.

Comparing a game to a girl is strange to me. Maybe because I'm a girl..


While looks are important, you can't honestly say you'd play a huge donkey turd of a game just because "it looks pretty".

Just my personal opinion.

Ha I know but it was the only comparison I could think of at the time. But yeah, of course you can't decide the gameplay until you buy it.

I'm just sayin the graphics are something to start with :] They sure as hell aren't everything.
