I live in pasadena, california (problem #1) and im currently going to college right now, and in one of my classes my teacher asked us why wouldn't people move to california. I tried to make a joke but at the same time make a point by saying "700k for a 2 bedroom house, no thanks" and NO ONE understood what i had said, instead looking at me with a funny look and asked what was i talking about. That is the straw that broke the camels back for my patience with people today, my gf said however it gets to me because i let it get to me but on the other hand it is pretty stupid that even a teacher with a PHD didnt know what i was talking about or even make an attempt to guess. So what im trying to say is the subject topic, do i have an anger problem or just an idiot problem?

I think the people in the room just had ADD and/or an earwax build-up. But I could be wrong.

Dude not everyone has the same sense of humour as you, you got to give them another chance.

For what it's worth, I take your point. I have no interest in being "house poor." It's one of the reasons my husband decided against applying for a job in LA.

Just let it go. Just remember not every can keep up. :D

wasnt sayin that they had to get the joke just the fact that they didnt know that housing is expensive as hell in the area that they live in is what pissed me off

you my friend have an anger problem, look just because someone does not understands what you are talking about gives you a right to be "angry" at them

you have to understand that there are people out there that are just not in tune with what you think, also, you may have said it as a joke, but if your teacher was asking you "why wouldn´t people move to california" and you answer, well, i have had teachers to try and make me elaborate my answers, just to see if i am sure what i am talking about, also some teachers do that kind of things to help with the "elaborate thought"

look, easy, she was just trying to see how well you were to put your thoughts in to words

Good chance they just didn't find it funny enough to look, well, humoured. Like said before: not everyone has your sense of humour.

Or mine, goddammit.

Two possibilities, the way I see it.

1- If your class was anything like a few of mine, the idea is to not speak, let the instructor finish his stupid lecture, and leave. Jokes/questions/comments/concerns just slow everything down in that type of class, so you may have gotten a silent "oh just shut the hell up" from everyone in the room. If this is the case, you should not only not let the reaction get to you, but should apologize by staying silent in future classes.

2- You do indeed have an idiot problem, and it's annoying as Hell.

I'm definately an anger problem guy. I very rarely get angry but when I do then it's KOS for everyone.

Possibly not everyone has been house shopping yet. I'm in college and I haven't. Also, making your audience do some mental math about how much a house should cost (if they know) would probably at least result in a delay.

Then again, I suck at math, so maybe that's just me.

Maybe they're rich and therefore don't have a housing problem. Either that or they all live with their parents and don't pay board. OR - the all live in apartments and would kill you for a 2 bedroom house.

I don't know mate - sounds like your pet peeve is being misunderstood. Mine is having to share the road with a state full of morons who couldn't drive properly if they were daily beaten with common-sense and had competence injected into their brain stem.
you live in california too?
