Do need to play the A. Creed 2 games to play AS3?

To understand Desmond and crew's motivations and maybe some of the plot points around them, yeah...but nothing a good search on the internet can't fix.

EDIT: AC2 was a hell of a game, the best in the series, so...I'd totally recommend that game. Fun times....fun times...
