Ok So watch this video below

And tell me, what is the purpose of someone making a video of this. I mean I doubt it is a problem with people actually calling her ugly, because she is clearly not. But does the media have that much pressure on girls for this?? I just feel the type of embarrassment from watching this video and in the future more videos like this being made need to be prevented.

It's kind of sad to see this, because really this vid only caters to pedophiles (and boys her age as well). Some people crave attention, it's up to you whether or not you'll give them yours.

I think that she's trying to be sardonic. However, I find the media does pressurize both girls and guys alike. Men are portrayed as muscular, athletic and sex-gods while women are skinny to the point of unbelievable, super smart, or use their beauty to get by. Now, being athletic or smart isn't a bad thing, but it raises the idea that you HAVE to be that way, by the most unattainable standards.

She's lookin' fo' sum attention. Lots of girls these days tend to do that and say that they are ugly just so their friends will say "No you're not, you're beutiful! ;D" but even if you try to ask them why they do this they'll just respond that you are wierd just to avoid the truth.

Boredom + a couple of working youtube accounts, oh yes I'm going to have a fun time with this. As much crap as we got on internet this shouldn't be on here...

This girl doesn't think she's ugly. If she thought she was ugly, she wouldn't be making this video. She's fishing for compliments, and yes, some people really do crave attention this much.

If she's in middle school, she has an excuse. Middle school is vicious and the girls thrive on bringing each other down.

If she's in high school, then she's just an attention whore that needs to grow up.

Well. I think it's not the need for attention and wanting people to acknowledge her existance, it's more she wants validation of people saying she is beautiful. This is a problem seen a lot in teen girls due to the sheer amount of vanity and image of the beautiful person seen in the media. This video is her way of knowing that she is not ugly as some apparently mentioned to her, through the responses. Therefore she is just attempting to increase her confidence and self esteem.

It could also be seen that she is looking for attention through the belief that success on Youtube means she has truly achieved something in the same way that many of us attempt to create funny comments or responses so as to attract attention and endulge the human ego.

And yes I realise I sound like a complete tosser.
I just felt the need to get a bit psychological. I could be wrong. I've never taken a class about psychology in my life.
I'm guessing from what I know from TV.

I wouldn't touch her with a 39 snd a half foot pole. But those who crave attention often wish they were alone once they get what they want...

People always crave attention. It's in their nature.

Some just crave it more than others.

And some crave it so much that they're willing to put up with sarcastic assholes (Like me, sometimes) making fun of them specifically BECAUSE they posted a video asking if they're pretty or not.
