Since x-mas is actually Christmas.
emphasis on the christ part.
not a christian or anything, but since thats the point to it.
i don't see how people made the saying anyways.

x= roman for christ.

It's not lazy or hateful, it's just shorter and can change a companie's mind to say "merry X-mas" in an increasingly secular world. But even now, it's all happy holidays but that's irrelevant.

Typed? It's easier, try it.

However, I too hate in Commercials, Posters and when being talked to. I understand if someone is posting on a Forum or on their Facebook, but not when something is on a much larger scale of things.

I think if people say it, it's dumb. It's not any shorter when you say it versus when you type it.
*shrug*

Well, I did think about it and maybe some people think it is cool to say X-Mas... So whatever floats their boat I guess.

I just consider Xmas to be the way for people like me who celebrate it as a holiday with no religious affiliation. I know that the Xmas does stem from Christ, but Xmas always just seemed the way to essentially take the christ out of christmas (which many people seem to object to...mainly christians)

Sometimes it slips out of my mouth, but I usually don't say "merry xmas" or "I've got all my xmas shopping done" but sometimes I may just say "xmas is coming"

I don't mind when the guy at Best Buy says Happy Holidays, I don't mind when my neighbor tells me Merry Xmas (if I ever talked to them anyways)

Really it just doesn't matter to me. It doesn't feel any lazier imo, just...different.
