It in our nature to, not so much hate, but compete. I think its a survival instinct. To fight for survival etc.

AS long as you're not under the false illusion that you're better than everyone else, then whatever I guess.

You may think other people are stupid, but chances are many or all of them think the same of you. Except you know... the ones who realize we're all just human, have off days, make mistakes, and shit happens.

It would be nice if there was more tolerance and understanding but I doubt I'll see any kind of promising change before I die. Stupid flawed humanity.
thats sorta pretensious to say, considering you are a member of humanity as well,
How is it pretentious? Am I not allowed to make critiques or comments about groups I belong to?

no, its just seems pretenious because you make it sound like you supposedly better than this group, even tho you are in the group yourself

Getting angry is like a pressure release valve for most people. I would think it's natural to be on the look out for any small excuse to blow off some steam. Lord knows I'm no different.

I believe that's the concept behind trolling; going out and making enemies and then defeating them verbally.

I think you're making an "ass" out of "u" and your "mptions" right now. Just sayin'

I know its not common for you to see people saying negative things, and including themself in that group that they are talking about. But I made no attempt to seperate myself from humanity, you made this assumption on your own. I'm not sure what this says about you and how you think exactly, but maybe if you contemplate what just happened you might see things a different way.

i was not assuming, but merely making an educated guess, based on how you refered to humanity in such poor terms, and seem to offer the answers for how to fix humanity, as if you followed these answers completely. but really, all language is just assumptions and educated guesses, as they all try to evoke our inner thoughts, yet all fail to fully do so.. tho thats a completely different descussion

Wha...?

You lost me at making assumptions and guessing being different things.

Also I'm flattered that you think I have all the answers, but really no one has all the answers.

I just wish we were all better and we're not. I'm fairly certain you've gotten my meaning by now...

Um...well, imagine how boring Batman comics would be if all the Arkham inmates stopped commiting crimes. How can we look forward to anything if there's never any conflict?

Want to hate? Nah. Have to hate, because they'll make it happen. Stupid people are stupid people. If you didn't hate them, you'd fall into whatever dumbass thing they're doing and suffer for it.

I don't think it's so much that we want to hate others, but that we rather expect to hate others. I mean, a lot of us already think of humanity in general as being uneducated, self-centered, and a general danger/nuisance to others...
but why do we expect to hate others? hate is an emotion, something you control, so you in a way choose whether or not you hate someone. so the fact that we expect to hate says that we expect to make this decision about someone, meaning we pretty much already hate them before they could give us a reason,
Application of Sturgeon's Revelation to humanity, perhaps, in that "90% of everything is crud."

And I don't really think that emotion is something you have complete control over. Do you choose when you always want to be happy or sad? Do you wake up in the mornings depressed over seemingly no reason whatsoever? Do you plan your hatred in advance, saying "I'm going to hate Person X for Y amount of time?"

According to alchemy, the world must be balanced. Therefor, it could be argued that we need hate, so someone can feel love. Also, the desire to be correct also plays a part in it, especially in your situation.

When I'm driving, i find myself often thinking, 'that guy over there will probably run that stop sign,' or 'why is this asshole driving so slow?!' or something of the sort. I've started to realize, I think I'm actually HOPING these people do something wrong or annoying, just so that i can be upset with them. and today, as i listened to my mother talk, I noticed the same sort of thing with her, she talked as if she was specificly looking for reasons to be upset with people.
Do people actually look for reasons to hate others? And if so, why do we do this? Does it give us some sense of superiority knowing another person is doing something wrong, or what is it?
Also, have any of you ever noticed this, in yourself or others?
Yes. These are called people who nothing more then products of their enviroment.

But there those who do ont and great people and are extremely wise, this is a person something who is rarely noticed despite that without them people might as well be stuck in one giant box.

If you're constantly 'looking for excuses' to get angry you most likely have something you are supposed to be angry about but for whatever reason aren't allowed to be. I.e. you're annoyed by the shit your boss/teacher throws at you but aren't allowed to complain because it'd be socially unacceptable.

actually, i do believe you can control your emotions, tho i admit it can be difficult at times. i mean, you Can tell yourself to be happy, and then be happy, tho the difficult part is sorta forgeting all the reasons to not be happy. i've read an article in Psychology Today about this sort of thing, they refered to is as being "mindful", and this idea is main principle of many philosophies such as buddhism

My theorie which is based on years of guessing, is that humans are design to hate eachother so that we can thin out are own popluation. Or something I don't know I generlly don't hate anyone exept politions and I try not to look for reasons to hate people because in mind subconscious I think hey its better to have a friend but thats just me.
