I have an idea:

let's make a thread about how people who talk to people who play WoW never talk about anything except how the WoW players never talk about anything except WoW and how they aren't good friends because of it.

:p :p :p :p

WHats wrong with people discussing their (favorite) past time? I have a simple rule: You do not discuss videogames in bars, clubs and restaurants. And I enforce that rule with the threat physical violence. It works fine. But theres been plenty of times I got together with my friends to discuss WoW related stuff, like a guild we were going to start. For one thing, the 5 of us had to agree on a name, something im very picky on.

Liek omg guise all WoW playas liek hav no lief or anyfin rite cus liek they play a game dat isnt call of duty or halo guise. srs.

Seriously, whats with all the WoW hate threads? Typing your opinion in the form of a statement doesn't make it fact. It's like me saying 'Everyone who plays Halo is an arse-hole pre-teen who thinks they are black'. I might think it, but it doesn't make it true. Hey wait, I'm a WoW player and I was just talking about people stating their opinions as fact. Damn. That isn't allowed is it, I was supposed to be talking about WoW...

So guys, has anyone cleared Ulduar yet?
Everything but Algalon.

I played WOW with the same bunch of friends (more or less) for 3 years.

Shortly before WOTLK release I decided to call it quits, I was exhaused from 2 years of leading/organising raids and yelling over vent. So, I left and got my farewells: "damn you're leaving? gl+hf mate, coming back?" NOOO.

Anyway, of course, these friends are still smacking up with their daily dose of WOW on our old ventrilo server. But I can't bare to be in ventrilo for more than 5 minutes. I can't get a word in because they never stop talking about WOW 24/7. ZZZZZZZZZ.

Anyone else have any WOW friends who fail at being friends?
I hate people like you. You are one of them idiots who like stereotypes, also, your friends are idiots if they only talk about WoW. You know that most people who play WoW are very normal and active in social life, and some of them are very intelligent.

If you played more than about a year or two ago and left then you should know that the game has changed to make it much easier for people to play casually, thus there are fewer obsessives and any stereotypes you knew to be correct back then may now be invalid.

Oh the travesty of discussing wow on a wow based vent server primaraly populated by wow players.
i think what i'm getting at is that WOW is infuriatingly addictive. i was the same, non-stop talking about wow. even though i dispised everything about the game i kept playing for over a year just for the social side.

having quit wow (about 8 months ago), i was merely pondering whether most WOW players actually realise that their world of warcraft chat is about as interesting as listening to a heroin addict talking about heroin.

p.s. i feel like a semi-retard after playing wow for 3 years, is it possible that a game can be so idiot-friendly that it turns a healthy brain into mush?

Why did you quote me while not responding to my post at all?

I don't understand why everyone's so hard on WoW. It's a game, just like any else. Talking about it doesn't mean you don't have a life or are a social outcast. As has been said, people talking about the game they're playing while in a Vent channel for said game should be forseen.

Sorry, I may be overreacting. I don't play WoW myself, but I don't understand when people criticize others for 'having no friends' or 'being losers'. Would it be better if they conversed in stereotypes?
