I've been waiting for the Witcher 2 to sink to a nice cheap price. Of course, that kind of blew up in my face with this whole enhanced edition thing. Stupid Witcher!

Depends. Is it a game I'm madly in love with, like Portal or Mass Effect? Then I will buy it as soon as I'm able.

Does it look interesting, but I'm not sold on it yet? I'll buy it later when it's less expensive.

I always do, ME3 has been the only exception for me and sadly it will be the last time I buy on release date.

Depends. If a game can provide me with many hours of enteraitanment and I am sure to come back to it and replay it time and time again than I will buy it at full price. If I'm really exicted I'll preorder it and then pay off ten bucks a week or something along those lines until fully paid. If I think the game will be fun but will only last me a weekend then it is a rent and if I really like I will buy it at a price drop.

Yeah, normally (unless I'm really anticipating it). Really, paying £35+ for new games is ridiculous when you can get it just a few months later for a fraction of that price.

I bought ME3 launch day. I've since reconsidered my policy on waiting for price drops.
Chump.
I already learned my lesson when DA2 came out.
I still haven't bought ME3.

Even though it's seems to be so bad that Amazon is even offering full refunds for opened games... I still kinda wanna play it just to wrap things up.
But not until the price drops.
And it looks like it will be soon.

There isn't a single game out today that I'm willing to pay the full $60 retail price on. Not just because I'm cheap, but because $60 is just way too inflated, especially for those shooters with all of 6 hours of gameplay. With enough patience, I'll be getting ME3 for <$20.

Depends on the game. Like with Mass Effect, I always wait till they hit under $30 before buying, they aren't good enough to warrant a day-one purchase.

I'll very rarely buy a game unless the price has dropped. The last game I bought at full price (more of a set really) was the Orange Box back in 2007.

Whenever the new Shin megami tensei or fire emblem comes out, I'll buy day one, otherwise I just wait.

Usually. There are some times when I REALLY want a game and I say "Screw it. Im getting it day 1 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XCOM:_Enemy_Unknown]" but for the most part, I wait for the price to get around 50% or better.

I pay what it's worth, if the game seems like it's worth the full $60 I'll preorder it. Most of the time games are not so I wait for the price drop. I'll never understand why people ***** about games being $60 when don't stay at that price forever. If you don't have the cash you can wait, I pick up most of my games a year or two later for $20-$30. If you need the game day one (hint: you don't), shut up and pony up the dough.

I do buy a lot of DS games new since by the time they drop stores don't carry them anymore. They're still cheaper than bigger system games though.

I waited for a price drop with the 3DS... but that was because it was rediculous to begin with!

I don't usually wait for the price to drop personally though... if a game piques my interest enough I will buy if from the off, but if I look at it and think, meh, not worth the money, I will re evaluate later... I wouldn't physically wait for a game I planned on getting!

I'm waiting to buy Arkham City until all of it's DLC is just included in the box or something.

(Also, I need to get a television and gaming system first, but that's another issue.)
LOL thats what I'm doing as well with Arkam City and pretty much every game out there these days.

Wait till the obligatory GOTY edition comes out with the DLC and save me some cash and get more bang for my buck

Like a lot of people said on here, I only buy at full price when really want them, same with my Dad who love to play as well. Thankfully we both generally have different tastes in games, for example he recently preordered Borderlands 2 and Bioshock: Infinite, two games I was happy to wait for, now I get them when they come out.

I'll buy some games at full price, if I want to support the company like Bethesda and GameFreak, but if it's a game I'm not sure about or if it's from a company I don't like, I'll wait.
