Do you care about ranking up in online games

Not usually cuz I'm almost always somewhere in the low 198,000's

If it doesn't really do anything, I don't see the point, although it can be a good indicator of how skilled your team/opposition are.

How? Most people will preserve thier K/D ratio by quitting early. It is to easy to boost these things.

In Halo, you lose a skill point for quitting early, so you can't rank up that way.

I don't care about online rankings. In fact, I don't play multiplayer online very much at all. When I do, it's just for fun and I don't care if I beat anyone else.

If it actually matters for the game, like in Street Fighter 4. The lower teir championship brackets are nothing but Akuma and Sagat fire ball spammers. Once you Dhalism stretchy own a few of those noobs and get into the high brackets the skill of your opponents really improves. I fear being sent back to that bracket.

I don't care about ranking up unless my friends play the game. We tend to try to out do each other in rank.

It's only fun to rank if I get new weapons or skills like an mmorpg.

In CoD games, yes because you unlock different weapons as you go along, in Halo 3 it just happens so its all good =]
