The closest I come to collecting in regards to certain developers' work would be collecting the seductively melancholic experiences of Supergiant Games' and That Game Company's titles for keeping them wrapped protectively and displayed in a part of the mind that most requires it.

There's not many, fortunately [small](or unfortunately?)[/small], and they're not full-priced titles, so one could easily accuse oneself of choosing a very low bar for success, with little disagreement.

One could also accuse oneself of stretching the definition of 'collect' and 'display' to justify a procrastinatory post, yet again with minimal disagreement.

One could also accuse oneself of wasting everybody's time with this meaningless twatwaffle in the vain hope that an inner closing maw can be ignored for a moment longer, leaving nary room to disagree.

Ummm... I "collect" them in the sense that I buy the ones I want to play.

Isn't that what everyone does? Why else would I want to acquire them?
some of us have the intentions of playing some games but don't because we're too busy being preoccupied with other games.

that's how backlogs start.

Collect games? Nah, I don't get to play the games I have enough to justify spending money on others I might never get to just for the sake of having them. I do still like to buy movies though. Something about being able to pick them off the shelf just feels better to me. I also have a growing collection of Batman Black and White statues. 4 first editions and 4 second editions. I have the itch to get more but they're not exactly cheap.

Not consciously but sure feels like it sometimes. I only buy physical copies and have amassed such a quantity that I took to carpentry about a month ago and constructed a bit of furniture to start shelving the excess games.

Sort of? I have bought games I don't really think I'm going to play just because I like latter games in the series or like the idea of the game. I try not to, sometimes I have remind myself that it's waste of money I can't afford.
