System Shock 2.

I will bring it up at every opportunity.

Of course, there's not much to defend it against; I've only ever heard/seen one truly negative criticism of it. So instead I just feel personally slighted whenever someone holds up Bioshock as an example of something, because I want to hold up SS2 as a better, earlier example.

I'm an Adobe fanboy, yeah I know about GIMP but when I use GIMP it feels like I'm cheating.

Games wise, Jagged Alliance, X-Com (the turn based games), Mechwarrior, NOLF and Crimson Skies, not many people say anything bad about them. Occasionally someone will say something bad about turn based strategy games, but those people are morons so I can ignore them.

I guess i can be really fanboyish when it comes to Scott Pilgrim and Darren Aronovsky Films, although i am aware of the latter one's flaws...

Not really. I mean, I'll defend stuff I like, sure, but I'm willing to acknowledge that there are flaws to just about everything I like. Call it outright bad and I might object. In a vague, apologetic manner, of course, after which I'll shut up.

One thing I really don't appreciate, though, is the sadly common idea that playing the Touhou games somehow makes me incredibly creepy. Honestly, to me, it's a source of good games with interesting (if rather psychotic) characters, and excellent music. The developer, I might add, does a wonderful job of averting any potential creepiness, so it just ends up being (admittedly) rather strange. Okay, so a lot of the fanbase does scare me, but still. Seems like everyone has to leap to conclusions.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be over here, outsmarting bullet.

Only a little riled up when someone talks crap about:

Games - Super Metroid, Ocarina of Time, SSB Melee, Total Annihilation and Half Life 2.

Music - Black Sabbath, ELP, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.

Movies - Fantasia, Shawshank Redemption, Alien, 2001 Space Odyssey, The Fugitive, Silence of the Lambs and Poltergeist.

I don't mean when someone criticizes it, I mean when they talk directly to me (quotes me) and tells me it sucks.

Not consistently, but I have fallen into fanboy behavior at times.

Personally, I aspire to be anything but a fanboy. Both in terms of game-related stuff, and in other areas of my life, I want to be the first to acknowledge legitimate criticism of the things I like.

That said, I recently spoke up against a legitimate criticism of The Void, an indie game available on Steam. The critic I was responding to had said that the game was too difficult to really get wrapped up in the experience. I said that the difficulty was key to immersion, that if the game wasn't difficult you wouldn't get the same feelings of desperation, frustration, and fear that are an essential part of the experience.

In the end, I had to concede that the game probably was too difficult.

Fanboyism is tantamount to being disconnected with reality, and while I enjoy my escapism, I always want to keep a foot, a hand, an eye, and an ear in the real world.

Anime/Manga? [HEADING=1]Cardcaptor Sakura[/HEADING].

Even thinking of insult the series or the protagonist in any way will result in ... well, let's just say you'll be on my bad side.

I really like porings from Ragnarok. I could hunt those little goo balls all day. Hmm. Doesn't feel like enough. I also really liked Princess Tutu.

Yeah. That should do it.
>Princess Tutu.
You have good taste.

Tekken wierdly. I can pretty much tell you the whole character relationship and stories. Even the crap animated feature they did. (But not the crappy live action one) And also the original Spyro and Crash Bandicoot games.

(And non-gaming it's Harry Potter. If you pretty much need anything to know I'm here)
