I'd say I'm English before I'd say I'm British. Not that I've got a problem with calling myself British, it's just that "English" pops into my head first.

I have strong Irish roots. My paternal great-grandmother was Grady, while my maternal grandfather was McGlynn. And I can't tan for shit too, so I'm almost full-on Irish. All I'm missing is red hair, which I (thankfully) don't have. Er, no offense to those that do, of course.

I personally consider myself English as I was born there and what not, but also what other country would accept me for wearing a top hat and monocle while I drink tea. Anyhow all the best villians are English

*cue evil laugh*

I consider myself to be equally English, British and European. I guess it's lucky there isn't a poll as I don't think that option would have appeared...

I was born and bred in Wales. I consider myself to be Welsh first, British second. Though I am proud to be British, i'm just more proud that we have our own national identity. We have our own language, culture and customs and that makes me really proud to be Welsh.

Both my parents are Scottish, grew up in the Highlands. I was born in the US and moved to Scotland for school, I AM Scottish but I have an American accent. Therefore I am accepted nowhere.
I identify most with my fellow scots though, I moved back to US recently and I'm still uneasy with everyone either being too friendly or a complete weirdo.

I'd say Scottish first and foremost but I am perfectly happy to consider myself British too since I was born and reside on the island of Great Britain. We all share an island why can't we all get on is my way of looking at it. It never works though since people are horribly bigoted.

I am british and happy to be called such.

Am originaly from N.Ireland, one thing I found when going to the USA was that saying I am british was less hassle than saying Northern Irish, since I would then get "top of the mornin' to you" type stuff said to me. Kinda got old fast. (Canadians on the other hand never seem to do that) :p

I did grow up in a part of N.Ireland that was and is very pro-british so that clearly has had an impact me.

I'm technically Scottish, but my mum is English, and then my grandparents are Czech and Ukrainian.
I'd say British, since that's on my passport.

Wel england,Wales, and scotland seem to becoming less of countries and more of just provinces, so if anyone asks me I will say that I am british.

I'm not really sure I use the terms interchangably I live in England so i'm English and thus I live in the British Isles so i'm British, The British Isles are part of Europe so I am also European aren't they really just different words for the same thing since I am all of those equally.
