Do you cry when in physical pain?

I honestly can't remember crying when in physical pain, though it's possible some cases had been blocked out. Granted there is a tearing-up response to having my hair yanked or my nose hit, but I'm not exactly sobbing about it.

The closest I come to crying in pain is when I have a migrane, but I don't quite get there. Last time I actually cried in pain was sometime way back when I was a kid. Little me was a pussy.

Not since I was like.. twelve?

It's strange too. I recently really fucked up my hand to the point I had to go to the hospital. No tears.

Watching some movie recently.. teared up like a little *****. Where's the sense in that?

I laugh. the More pain, the louder I laugh. Which freaks people out and makes them want to hurt me more.

I have not cried to physical pain. I tend to throw profanity at small pains and laugh if it's really bad. I laughed at a kidney stone and that's the most painful thing I have ever felt.

Nah. I swear and grunt and moan a bit, but I haven't cried due to physical pain since I was a kid.

I suppose I might if something really bad happened. Y'know, broken ribs or a ruptured organ or something.

The worst pain I have ever felt was when I broke my leg in 3 places after failing down a staircase and getting trampled on by about 15 rampaging students before anyone noticed I was genuinely hurt. My eyes did well up a fair bit, but no tears were shed. I was constantly saying the most horrific words imaginable. I go a bit mad when I'm hurt, I mean, I don't just swear, I start screaming about killing people and setting things on fire and nuclear war and crazy stuff. I have no idea why, I guess something just clicks...

I know guys that no matter what happen to them (broken limbs, kick in the balls, hell even stabbed, etc... ) they wouldn't shed a tear. And i am wondering if people here are the same way. Or are you sensitive to pain, and would cry at the slightest harm to your body?

I personally have only cried once due to physical pain , and it was when i broke my foot. I had a tree branch tall on my foot ( totally my fault ) and the pain was so excrusiating that i bursted out in tears. Now i wasn't sobbing, but i had tears running down my eyes.

Your Turn.
Woo, first post.

Anyway, I believe I used to cry from pain when I was younger, up to age eight or so. After that though the only thing that's caused the odd tear is something stinging like a cheese grater peeling off some skin or the like, usually I don't even realise it until I feel it on the cheek.

Interestingly enough though I actually broke my foot little more then 3 months ago at work (building scaffolding) and I didn't so much cry as sit there and growl and gasp at it.
Then of course I only thought it sprained so I kept working the next 1,5 hours before going home...and then waking up in bed the next morning finding it swollen to twice its size and me unable to stand on it without crying out in pain. (the body is good at dulling the pain for quite a while, it seems...) Didn't cry then either, though if sweating profusely in pain while hobbling to the hospital counts... :p

Normally no.

But I will tell you, I had meningitis last christmas, and it was flat-out the most pain I've ever felt in my life. I bawled every time I tried to sit down but couldn't.

(meningitis is when the membrane around the spine and brain becomes inflamed due to infection)

I've had a greenstick fracture that put my arm up like a roman bridge. Thing is, when you break a bone, you're usually buffered by shock and don't feel anything for a few minutes, which gives you plenty of time to anticipate and be in control of your response to the pain. Exceptions are broken shins or knees, which are said to be the most painful.

Now, I tore a muscle in 2003 and was completely unable to stay silent. Left tricep, a long tear. There was no shock, just an agony that made me shout and had me groaning through my teeth all the way to hospital, even after a shot. I didn't cry; I didn't feel compelled to and even if I had, there's a pride issue which I think is intrinsic to *most* men.

I don't think I have ever cried over pain. There was that one time at a school camp when I popped my arm out of its socket while playing air hockey (Im double jointed, so my arms pop out all the time) but this one time it hurt like a whore. My eyes did start to water but that was mainly due to the migraine that came after. What a shit night.

But no, I don't cry over pain. The only time there are tears is when it's a reaction to the initial pain. I don't cry for the sake of crying like some do.

I laugh, for some reason. I just see the funny side, you know. Dunno why. Unless it was somebody's fault, in which case I'll ask (As a pacifist) "What the hell was that for?"

No I swear and shout for a medic.
Worst injury I had was when I broke my left arm in two places and pretty much skinned it, I didn't cry but I swore an awful lot.

Not in a looooooong time, then again that's because I haven't had to endure any "pain" as in torture or getting my hand slamed between a cardoor. But the actual answer you're looking for is Yes, if I get a really bad physical strike I most likely will shed a tear, or at least I used to but it's so many years ago I should have to try it again to see if my body reacts the same way as it did before or if the fact that I am superman now doesn't make me do that anymore...

I generally don't get injured due to my immobile lifestyle, so I wouldn't know. I have some pretty severe headaches pretty often though(go figure), but that's not really the kind of pain that brings tears.

I once slipped in a puddle, the day after having surgery done one my foot. With the result of kicking the edge of a nearby doorway extraordinarily hard with my newly operated appendage.

I remember crying in between the screams and blackouts that followed.
