I work in an office, essentially it involves sorting through paperwork and scanning it into the systm

I actually like it, and everything about the job, my location, an hour lunchbreak (in the city..so I can buy more games I dont need :D) plus I have my own desk (with a firgurine on it) early start is annoying though

anyway its not exactally a career path..and when the singularity rolls around my job will prbably be the first to go...

Working as that guy who moves bread at a grocery store isn't all bad. Beats being shouted and insulted everyday in a family run restaurant.

I work at Mcdonalds.

That pay is good, until the BC pay raise takes that away from me, and i get forty hours a week.

The work is simple yet demanding. On the odd occasions my managers have no choice and put me up front i teeter close to telling customers to cram it and make there own fucking burger. When i get home i smell so badly of pickles that one time after work i decided to eat before taking a shower and the smell of my hands made me almost throw up. The prep table is so low i have to bend over to do most of the work and by the end of the week my back is killing me and my neck is sore as shit.

... And yet... I like my job. My co workers are awesome my managers are kind and hard working not to mention fun to talk to. Everyday is kinda like meeting up with friends. Sure the work itself sucks but i work with such awesome people i honestly couldn't give a shit. I'm still going to school for a career elsewhere but for now, I'm in an awesome place.

I talk into a microphone for minimum wage. On the upside, I can do an hours worth of work in about five minutes, and once recorded ten hours worth of radio in about 45 minutes. After that, I'm free to do pretty much whatever I want. In fact, I'm at work right now...
You've pretty much just described the job I went to college for (right down to the "doing whatever the hell I feel like on the computer for a good chunk of time" part), but probably won't be able to get for a long time. Radio announcers seem to be a dying breed, what with having voice-tracking, and radio station staff "wearing different hats."

I work at my Aunt's restaurant, and I stock chips and soda, refill the ice, refill the tea, refill the condiments, and clean the counters. I love working there.

Yeah, I did the different hats thing for a while, working sales, news, and on air for a while. Then they found that my sales skills were shit, and the head of the news department realized I wouldn't roll out of bed at 4 in the morning whenever she felt like sleeping in a bit, which was once or twice a week. Fortunately, I'm personable enough on the air that they wanted to keep me around rather than fire me outright.

VoiceTracking is actually a really handy tool, and hasn't cut in on my hours at all. The only thing we have recorded with no one in the studio at all is overnights, midnight to five, which isn't my shift anyways. The worst part is seeing other DJs who aren't any good at all kept in a regular shift while I'm stuck in part time, just because listeners fear change. I've pretty much accepted that, unless someone dies, a full shift will never open up for me.

In other news, if you really want in the business, I know a certain southern Indiana station that's going to have a part time shift opening up very soon.

More or less. Ten-hour days occasionally, but there's some free food involved, and my coworkers are nice.
Now, since I'm working for my mom, I get less than minimum wage, and I have yet to be actually paid, but it works out fine, I guess.

No. It's mentally and (at times) physically exhausting. I'm a "Behavioral Interventionist". I deal with kids and adolescents with behavioral problems. Worse than that, the parents (if they have any. In that case: the guardian) rarely ever gives a shit. But I'm good at it, having done it for a while and being very patient and extremely difficult to rattle. It pays well enough. It's not my future, but it will have to do for a few more years.

With the recent ad on The Escapist, saying that a freelance news position has become avaliable, I thought it might be time to pose the question, Do you enjoy your job?

I personally am in Healthcare, working as a Anaesthetic nurse in Paediatric Surgury and while there are bad days I do find it satisfying.

How about you?
I help out at my dads manufacturing business. I put parts together, clean things, and form metal.

It sucks. I would rather enjoy my summer and not work, but I want money, and there aren't many other better jobs for 16 year olds where I live. I can't wait until I'm older and I might possibly have a job that I'll like better...

I spend my days as a cashier and really the thing I dislike most is the pay. Customers may be frequently frustrating, but they're never boring. Way more fun than programming and analyst jobs I've had in the past. Plus it's awesome to spend such a rediculous amount of time flirting with women. But it's really hard to enjoy a job when I'm making less half of what I made at my second lowest paying job...

I work as a table busser at a local restaurant. For the most part I do enjoy it. Pretty much everyone is friendly and it's not a strict work environment. (Unless it's really busy). I get to meet a lot of new people too. Just a week ago I met a couple of Swedes. Very friendly. So yeah, I enjoy my job well enough. Of course there are those days... But when those days come around, I just remember I'm getting paid.

Banker here; I manage a small team who run some complex payrolls and transfers (host-to-host, SWIFT payments and our own inhouse system) - we maintain and run the switch that ensures a lot of people get paid or have money debited out of their accounts. Its pretty fun and, as we are overhauling the whole system over the next 24 months, there is never a dull moment.

Plus I have a high level systems security clearance - neat.
