I'll sometimes do that, but the voice reading the text is always my own. I've never learned how to speak with different voices in my own head. Even when I try, they always eventually degenerate back to my own voice.

I read the post before looking at any other part of the thread... The avatar is really just a faster way of me recognizing the user. So no, I don't do that.

Heh, someone recently said that my avatar makes most of my posts sound condescending even though they agree with me a lot of the time and there is nothing about the actual post itself to make it sound so.
So yeah, I am guessing a few people do that.
I do recognise most people by their avatars but do not think of the avatar itself being the person.

I actually agree, your posts and your avar tend to sync up, so yeah I do get a very condescending "I know best" vibe

even more so if somones avatar is a gif of somone speaking or it looks like their speaking (which Ive seen a couple)

That is part of the purpose with this avatar.

I do it sometimes if it's a picture of a character I know a bit of, like Professor Hubert Farnsworth, but most of the time no.

Not quite to that extent but I certainly do always assume I'm talking to someone with the same gender as their avatar. If they don't like that then they shouldn't use that image to represent themselves.
